Beware of Potential Scams - Protecting Your Information
Dear EMCSD Community,
Throughout education, there are increasing reports of families receiving phone calls requesting personal information and promoting sales of computer devices or school resources to address their children's educational needs. They often ask you to provide personal information and claim to be associated with your “local school district”.
We want to clarify that El Monte City School District does not sell educational services like devices to our families. All official communication from our school district will come directly from school personnel through secure channels like ParentSquare, official letters on EMCSD letterhead, a district email, or phone calls from school offices.
Your safety and privacy are important to us. If you receive such calls soliciting paid educational services from your “local school district,” please be cautious and avoid sharing personal information. We recommend reporting any suspicious calls to your local law enforcement agency.
All EMCSD students are provided a free Chromebook to assist with learning, and through our Expanded Learning Opportunity program (ELO-P), we can provide after-school tutoring at no cost. Please contact your school directly if your student needs additional academic support.
Let's work together to protect our community from potential scams and ensure the well-being of our families.
