UPCOMING COLLEGE AND CAREER EVENTS
Tuesday, November 12th -- FSA ID Workshop 5:30-7:30pm
Seniors are required to submit the FAFSA -or- submit the waiver form to the state in order to receive their diplomas. One (sometimes challenging) part of that process is for parents and students to set up their FSA ID account, which is required to complete the FAFSA. Our friends from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission will be on hand to help students and parents request their FSA ID. SIGN UP HERE.
If you have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Ms. Ohlson via email (brenna.ohlson@d303.org) or phone at (331)228-6343.

THIS WEEK'S GLIMPSE AROUND CAMPUS
Students interested in aviation enjoyed a field trip to the DuPage Airport where they learned about career options in the field of aviation, had the opportunity to explore perspectives from both the cockpit of a plane and the air traffic control tower, and, most exciting of all, they had the chance to use flight simulators to fly and land various types of planes.

The Compass Academy Students of the Quarter were recognized at our Q1 Navigation Celebration last Wednesday for demonstrating one or more of the Directions to Success, exemplifying what our expectations are of a Compass Navigator. Congratulations to Ryan, Sydney, Aiden, CJ, Caty, Magnolia, Natasha, Gray, and Khai!

The Compass Open House was a success, drawing dozens of prospective students and families, along with interested staff members from other D303 buildings and Compass students who were eager to show their parents the work they've done so far this year. Student projects were on display in every room, and the food trucks and raffle prizes provided an added bonus for all in attendance.

HOMELESS YOUTH AWARENESS MONTH
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
November is National Homeless Youth Awareness Month, where we take this opportunity to raise awareness around students experiencing homelessness. Each year, hundreds of thousands of families face the challenges of homelessness, including families and students in D303. Students who experience homelessness are at a greater risk for emotional and behavioral difficulties. Since its declaration in 2007, this month has highlighted the experiences of those affected and inspired action to combat this critical issue. By educating ourselves and our local community on ways to support these individuals, we can contribute to the effort to end homelessness. Thank you to our dedicated staff for the hard work you do every day to support D303 students and families experiencing homelessness; your compassion makes a significant difference in their lives.
