Andersen Howard | October Ray of Hope Award
Congrats to Andersen Howard on being named the October 2024 Ray of Hope Awardee. Andersen is being recognized for his outstanding academic achievements as well as his overall character and care for his community. Andersen is a senior at Raytown High School and has been named a National Merit Scholar Corporation Semifinalist. This
is a prestigious honor with the nationwide pool of semifinalists representing less than 1% of U.S. high school seniors. Way to go Andersen! You can watch a video that honors Andersen for his achievements here.
Our Schools
Attend to Win | Attendance Recognition at Raytown South High School
In partnership with the district's Attend to Win initiative, each high school will recognize at least four students who meet the 90/90 attendance goal. For September, Ray South had the honor of celebrating eight students who have shown incredible dedication to be here as often as possible! For September, RSHS also chose to celebrate four students that have been in attendance for 100% of the school year. We are excited to celebrate the following students: Eva C., Trenton H., Taylor T., Kynadie H., Joe B., Trevin H., Ra'Shon S. (not pictured), and Jacy W. (not pictured). Each student was given a McDonald's gift card as a reward. Throughout the year, schools will continue to honor and celebrate students who meet milestones in their attendance goals as we work to achieve over 90% attendance.
RHS & RSHS students Attend UMKC Business Student Day
Business students from Raytown High and Raytown South High Schools enjoyed a great day at UMKC Bloch School and Signal Theory. This student event was a collaboration between the Career Education Consortium, UMKC Bloch School of Management, and industry partner Signal Theory.
To conclude their day, RQS students engaged in a panel discussion with Bloch School students. Highlights of the panel discussion included: What influenced their interest in marketing? How is the marketing field changing with modern technology (influencers, AI)? How has the Bloch School prepared students for the job market? What can students in high school be doing now to build their portfolios?
Thank you to all that helped coordinate this real world experience for our students.
Blue Ridge Elementary participates in National Walk to School Day.
National Walk or Ride Your Bike to School was a lot of fun for many families at Blue Ridge. Students and staff had so much fun walking, riding, and socializing on the way to school. The staff shared that you could feel the sense of community. Thanks to all of the families that helped make this a great experience for our students.
