Then get excited because the Book Fair is coming! Come check it out from October 28th-November 1st. We'll have contests, fun school supplies, and LOTS of new books! We'll be open from 7:40 a.m.-4:00 p.m., except on Friday, November 1st, when we'll close at 2:40 when the bell rings. (Students shopping with an adult may come at 7:20 a.m. to shop.) Hike on over to the library to find your new favorite book, and we'll see you there!

Please remember that Halloween is a normal school day. Students are not permitted to wear costumes, wear face paint, bring candy to hand out, etc.. If grade level teachers have special events or activities planned, those teachers will communicate details to parents. Thank you for your cooperation!

Parents, do you need a night out? While you enjoy your evening out, your child can hang out and play with the Lady Rebels Basketball team!

CGIS Fourth Grade will celebrate “Lunch with a Loved One” in the Nest on the following dates:

• 10/28- Navy House

• 10/29- Blue House

• 10/30- Green House

We will begin at 11:30 am and end at 12:30 pm. During lunch, families will have the opportunity to visit the CGIS Book Fair. All adults will need to check in with a government-issued ID through our Navigate security system as they enter the building. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to complete this process. Families will also want to bring a blanket or camp chairs. We ask that you do not check out your student because we will still be covering curriculum afterwards. If you are unable to attend, feel free to send a blanket or towel with your child. Return the attached sheet by Wednesday, October 23. Students will also be bringing home a hard copy. We hope to see you there!

Attention: Fourth Grade Families

To complement our social studies curriculum, the fourth grade will be going on a field trip to Fort Loudoun on the following dates:

Nov 4: Green House

Nov 6: Blue House

Nov 7: Navy House

Your child should bring a permission slip home, but you can also find them below. We have set up an online payment option at no additional cost. Our online payment system is mcs.schoolcashonline.com. This account will travel with your student until graduation. If you prefer not to use the online service, you can send in a check or cash. All checks need to be made payable to CGIS. If you are paying with cash, you must send the exact amount as making change is difficult. Permission slips and payment will be accepted October 21-25.

The CGIS Veteran's Day concert performances will be in the CGIS Theater at 8:00am and 6:30pm. If you are coming to the morning performance, please be prepared to sign in with your state ID on the computer in the lobby.

The basketball schedule below is a complete list of home, away, and tournament games for 4th/5th and 6th/7th grade basketball teams!
