Participate in Flat Mrs. Showers Project
At Reno Elementary, we are always looking for ways to foster creativity, imagination, and learning beyond the classroom.
You may be familiar with the beloved children's book character, Flat Stanley, who embarks on adventures around the world through the simple act of being mailed in an envelope. Similarly, Flat Mrs. Showers aims to inspire our students to explore new places, learn about different cultures, and engage in fun activities during the summer break.
Here's how participation works:
Flat Mrs. Showers: Your student can print a cut-out of Flat Mrs. Showers. If you don't have a printer at home, take a snapshot with your phone and hold that up on your adventures or draw a picture of Mrs. Showers and cut it out.
Summer Adventures: Encourage your student to take Flat Mrs. Showers on adventures throughout the summer. Whether it's a trip to the park, a family vacation, or a visit to a local museum, Flat Mrs. Showers can accompany your student everywhere!
Documentation: Have your child document Flat Mrs. Showers' adventures through photographs, drawings, or short stories. You can send your photos to jshowers@springtownisd.net or tag them on social media as #RenoPorcupines
Sharing and Learning: When the new school year begins, your student will have the opportunity to share their Flat Mrs. Showers adventures with our school. This will foster a sense of community and allows students to learn from each other's experiences.
My hope this that you and your student can have a summer filled with fun, learning, and memorable experiences.
Have a great summer,
Mrs. Showers, Principal, Reno Elementary
