Dear CCS Parents,

Happy Autumn! Aren’t those fall colors so beautiful?! Have you seen those glorious sunrises and that fabulous full moon?! Truly gifts from our Creator! All praise and thanks be to God!

Trunk-or-Treat is finally here, Saturday evening from 4:00 - 6:00. It's a wonderful opportunity for our CCS families, friends, and surrounding community to dress up and enjoy spending time together. How great is that?! What a wonderful opportunity for us to share Jesus’ love and foster fellowship!

The Carousel Acres Petting Farm will be at the event along with the Brighton Fire Truck; we will have indoor games and prizes; and don't forget to stop by the gym for free donuts and cider! We will also have Jet’s Pizza and water to purchase, and the Good Sense Coffee Truck will be there to warm you up while walking around outside.

Can’t wait to see you and the festive costumes! It’s going to be crazy fun! Be on the look-out for Pete the Cat. He will be passing out treats and eating a few too! ;)

Report Cards will be coming home on Wednesday, November 6th and Parent Teacher Conferences are on Thursday, November 7th. Just around the corner are opportunities for you to view your child’s progress, celebrate their achievements, and discuss areas of growth. These conferences are truly special because they allow us to partner with you and support your child’s whole development. The Sign-Up Genius links will be sent out on Monday so be ready to select a slot to meet with your child’s teacher.

'Twas the night before trunk or treat, and all through the school (well, at least the gym and hallway!), many PTO members were stirring, even their kids! The paper lanterns were hung from the ceiling with care, in anticipation that many would soon will be there!

If you find yourself suddenly available to host a trunk tomorrow, don't be shy! C'mon over to the CCS parking lot at 2:30 to set up (to be ready by 3:30) and come join the fun!

Calling all Kinders, 1st, and 2nd graders for our first K-1-2 Club for a Fall Session!

What: A club specific to Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade

What are we doing? We're going to craft, play on the playground, or go for a nature walk!

When: Starting this coming Monday, October 28th (yes, that's this coming Monday!), and then on November 4th and 18th

Where: CCS

Time: 3:45-4:30p

Light Snack: Yes!

We will need parental help with this!

There is one last chance to be a part of our RC Club. Grab your remote and vehicle and come drive with us!

Parents - don't forget ...

Your presence is required in order for your student to participate, as this is a 'parent-monitored' club.

- A light snack will be provided for all participants.

- Students in all grades are welcome, along with their parents.

- Times are from 3:45 - 4:30p.

We hope you can make our first "Mugs & Moms" this Wednesday, October 30th at the Brighton Coffee House in downtown Brighton! Join us after morning drop-off for a cup of coffee and a chance to visit with other CCS moms. It's a special time!

Little ones are always welcome. We hope we see you there!

It's an annual tradition at CCS to partner with Cornerstone Church to fill shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. We will continue this tradition! Information will be sent home the week of October 28th, with shoeboxes being sent home the week of November 4th. All filled shoeboxes will be due on Friday, November 15th.

Cornerstone Church will be hosting their annual Thanksgiving To Go meals again this year. Meals will be handed out on Wednesday, November 27th from 9a – 8p. They are planning on handing out over 1300 meals to the underserved in our community. For the first time, CCS will be partnering with the church on this service opportunity.

There are a few ways to help:

- 125 frozen 15-25lb turkeys are needing to be donated

- meal prepping

- handing out meals on Wednesday, Nov 27th

As the event draws closer there may be additional opportunities, as well. In the days to come a link will be made available to sign up to volunteer.

Our students will also be taking part by drawing cards and writing notes of encouragement for the families who will be receiving the meals.

Please prayerfully consider how God might be leading you to help with this.

Congratulations to our soccer team for a successful season! They won games, increased in skill, and increased in their ability to play as a team!

We now are looking ahead to Cheer!!

Cheer started out with a bang this week from jumps to stunts and starting to learn their synchronized competition routine. While you won't see the team on the boys basketball sideline this season, mark your calendars for January 11th when you can cheer them on at competition!

How blessed are we to be located in a town full of happy helpers! A shout-out to a great group of young ladies from the Brighton High School cheer team!

Our preschool and K-5 classes all celebrated the season with Harvest Parties between yesterday and today. Our anything-farm-related/happy-scarecrow theme always brings a great number of adorable costumes, and this year was no different!
