Dear Henry Families,
Students and teachers are breathing a collective sigh of relief following the completion of spring testing. Henry students completed end of the school year DIBELS assessments and AASA / State testing in April. This month we have many great opportunities to showcase student academic growth, OMA Fine Arts performances, our Annual Henry Community BBQ, Field Day, end of the year celebrations, and Grade 6 promotion on Thursday, May 22, at 8:00 a.m.
National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 5-9, 2025. We are having our Henry Educator Appreciation Week this same week where we are celebrating all team members that support Henry students. Please consider stopping into our school between now and May 9, to write a message of appreciation for any team member on our colorful apples that are located at the front counter. This takes only a few minutes of time, and your message lets the Henry team members know they are appreciated in partnership with our Henry families. All messages will be shared on a display for our team at the front of school.
Our May Character Strong trait is “Creativity.” Creativity has to do with using your imagination to create something new or solve a problem. Please take an opportunity to ask your student about how they are using creativity in their classroom, school and at home.
Our team greatly appreciates families keeping daily routines going strong with regular student attendance and being on time for learning, as we approach the end of the school year. Our teachers continue to stress the importance of school expectations for learning and students following our Anna Henry 4 B’s- Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Kind!
Families, please remind students to take their water bottles to school each day. Our school has three water bottle filling stations that are equipped with water filtration. Please look around the house and send your student’s water bottle into school with them.
The final day of school this academic year is on Thursday, May 22, 2025. Please be on the lookout in July for a parent letter and parent link message that will have important information for families about the 2025-2026 academic school year. I encourage our families to remind your neighbors and family friends to check us out for the upcoming school year. We will continue to conduct school tours into the summer for interested families. Have a safe and enjoyable summer!
Respectfully,
Thomas Heminger, principal
