Tawanka Times
Future Meteorologists
A special thank you to Mrs. Crisp, Mrs. Fedele and our two 2nd grade weather stars
Adelyn Green and Maya Kopansky for presenting to the school board last night. Thank you for representing Tawanka. Well Done!!
Physical Education
Officer Colleen visited the gym and showed her moves to the children. Police officers are our friends. We can go to them for help when we need it and we should always listen to them when they give us directions to follow. Thank you to the Lower South Police Department for their daily school visits.
Kindergarten
Apples, apples are everywhere in the kindergarten pod. We just love learning about this autumn fruit! We can label the parts, learn about Johnny Appleseed and graph our favorite kinds.
Second Grade
Mrs. Hanna’s class got a very special visit from Mrs. Deeken and Chance, her Golden Retriever.
Chance is a therapy dog who will join our class once a week to help children practice their reading fluency.
Students will have the “Chance” to spend one on one time reading to this very special furry friend!
Holiday Assistance
If your child is enrolled in the Free Lunch Program, you may be eligible for additional assistance from outside sources. We are contacting clubs and organizations in the area on your behalf to make a truly “Happy Holiday” for your family.
Since we do not know how many organizations will respond to our appeal, we cannot guarantee what type or amount of gifts your children will receive. These donations may be in the form of food, gifts or gift certificates. Any information shared with us will remain confidential.
Please contact the nurse’s office or Mrs. Duffy for further information.
