Wellness for the Sioux City Community Schools

BIG WELLNESS NEWS!!!
UnitedHealthcare has awarded Sioux City Schools with a wellness budget for the 2019/2020 school year. This budget will help create a Culture of Health and actively engage members to build healthier lifestyles. Healthier employees help increase productivity and reduce health care costs.
These funds will be applied to participation incentives, registration fees, and wellness education. This information has been presented to the insurance committee for best practices on implementing a successful program.
Be on the lookout for ways to get more involved and earn some awesome prizes!

What is a Biometric Screening?
Center for Disease Control (CDC) definition: A measurement of physical health characteristics.
Includes:
- Body Mass Index (BMI): Height and Weight
- Blood Pressure
- Fingerstick blood draw:

- Triglycerides (NEW)
- Cholesterol (HDL, LDL, Total Cholesterol, TC/HDL Ratio)

- Click on the Health Resources tab
- Scroll down to Get Screened and click Learn More
- You will arrive at the Quest Diagnostics dashboard
- Select Onsite Event
- Select your preferred location
- Select the default date
- Choose an appointment time
Remember to Fast:
- Fast 9-12 hours prior to screening
- Take any regularly scheduled medications as usual
- Drinking water is permissible and recommended during the fasting period

UnitedHealthcare has announced a NEW Mobile App which provides secure, on-the-go access to personalized health information. UHC encourages employees to start using UnitedHealthcare app as Health4Me® will sunset in the future. The app engages employees through a simplified health experience, where you can use the app to:
- Find nearby care and pricing
- Video chat with a doctor 24/7 — without leaving the app (only available with Teladoc)
- View Optum Bank financial account balances
- See claims, Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and deductibles
- View and share health plan ID card
- Other features include:
