The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that by 2024 in the United States, there will be 790,400 new job positions in the construction industry. These are well paid, skilled jobs with training available starting in high school.

NCC Construction
Northland Career Center offers a two-year program for students wanting to enter the construction industry. Careers in home building, and light commercial construction are the basis of the program and introduce technical information on the building trades industry through various projects in the Northland. This course is certified by the Association of General Contractors (AGC).
ACC Carpentry/Construction Technology
Area Career Center has a program designed to be taken in two years. Carpentry/Construction Tech I and II. It covers residential and commercial construction, ranging from small building projects to house projects under the supervision of a qualified instructor. Students will earn a 10-hour OSHA Safety Course Certification and other credentials through NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research).
NCC HVACR
The HVACR course at Northland Career Center prepares students for entry-level employment as a technician in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration industry. Completion of this course earns the student the EPA 608 Refrigerant Certificate, required for employment in the HVACR field.
ACC HVAC
Students at Area Career Center learn the fundamentals of heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, electricity, tubing operations, and troubleshooting. There are simulated installations, as well as on the job installations. This is a two year course. Students will earn a 10-hour OSHA Safety Course Certification and industry recognized credentials.
ACC Electrical Trades
Area Career Center has a course designed to introduce students to electrical construction. There is an emphasis on green energy technologies and allows the students to transfer directly into the electrical field or continue toward an apprenticeship or higher education. Like the construction course, Electrical Trades I and II are available. Students will earn a 10-hour OSHA Safety Course Certification and NCCER electrical industry certification.
