CES Happenings
Dear CES Family,
This one is easy to write: Happy Thanksgiving! This has been a special week with our kids. I appreciate all that our teachers did to provide some really special opportunities to teach our students about how to be thankful and express their gratitude to staff, their families and friends.
On another note, most of you are aware of the fact that the first trimester ended last Friday. Know that our teaching staff is working hard putting their report cards together and will have those ready to go home and posted in Parent Portal on December 6.
I hope you all have a great week off and enjoy time with your family. See you in December!
Sincerely,
Scott Cory
Principal

December 2024 Garden Corner
Our new Garden Manager is Sheryl Hart-Langrehr. Hired recently, she is off to a tremendous start. She asked if she could provide a "Garden Corner" article for the newsletter. Welcome Sheryl! We're lucky to have you on board.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You will notice much of the garden has been cleaned up and mulch has been laid over the planting rows to regenerate the soil during the garden's winter sleep. The dead plants that are left standing serve the purpose of providing shelter for insects to overwinter. The Compost Tumblers have been renewed with green waste, brown waste and cow manure to "percolate" (decompose) and create healthy soil.
We thank Barbara Montandon and the Hershberger Ranch of Standish for donating mineral tubs. Melissa McCoy of Every Bloomin' Thing, Wayne and Tami deJong of Lake Almanor Ace Hardware and Holiday Market for seed donations and Holiday Market for green waste. Gary and Patsy for non-toxic cow manure.
Observe the garden as it sleeps and works to create healthy soil for healthy, abundant crops in 2025.
