UIL Congratulations
This past week, Klein High Choir brought six ensembles to the UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation, held at Willis High School and Klein Cain High School. We are proud to share that all six choirs earned either Superior or Excellent ratings from every judge! This incredible achievement is the result of many rehearsals, focus, and dedication from our amazing students.
🎶 UIL recordings are available in your Schoology course or by clicking the button below.
Congratulations to all members of the Klein High Choir—we are so proud of you!
Parent Volunteer & Booster Club Info
We have a few remaining volunteer spots available for Pop Show concessions on May 6. If you're interested in helping out, please sign up using the SignUpGenius link below.
We're also looking ahead to the 2025–2026 school year and searching for new leadership for our Choir Booster Club. Several of our current board members are senior parents, which means we’ll have multiple positions opening up. Our Booster Club is made up of dedicated parents who take on specific and manageable roles throughout the year—and we'd love for you to consider joining!
Open Positions:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary
- Vice President of Fundraising & Scholarships
- Volunteer Coordinator
Parent involvement plays a vital role in the success of our choral program, and we hope you'll consider getting involved. Our final Booster Club meeting of the year is Tuesday, April 29, and is open to anyone interested in learning more.
For questions, please contact Booster Club President Shannon Jacobson at stjacobson@gmail.com or Mr. Stultz at sstultz1@kleinisd.net.
Chorale Celebration of Excellence
On Monday, Chorale will travel to The Centrum to participate in the Celebration of Excellence contest.
Chorale members should arrive at Klein High School by 7:15 AM. Students may change into their concert attire at school, but please be prepared to change quickly upon arrival. Our performance at The Centrum is scheduled for 10:35 AM. Parents, this event is free and open to the public. We’d love to see you there! We expect to return to KHS around 2:00 PM. For additional details, please refer to the info sheet linked below.
Uniform Return
We’re now collecting formal choir uniforms. Students must dry clean their dress or tux (jacket and pants) and return it to the choir room between April 14 and May 1. A clothing rack will be available before and after school. Please attach the dry cleaning receipt and student name to the uniform.
All uniforms are due by Thursday, May 1. Because these are Klein ISD property, failure to return a uniform may result in losing spring final exam exemptions. Thanks for your help!
Course Selection & Chamber Choir
As you finalize course selections for next year, here’s some important choir info. In Skyward, select CHORAL MUSIC and choose the level based on your years in high school choir. For example, if this is your first year, sign up for CHORAL MUSIC 2 for next year. If you choose the wrong course, we can work with counselors to fix it.
If you plan to audition for Chamber Choir, sign up for VOCAL ENSEMBLE in Skyward. Auditions are in April, and counselors can enroll you now via email if needed. If you make the ensemble, you're set! If not, you’ll work with your counselor in May to choose a backup course.
For questions, email sstultz1@kleinisd.net. We’ll also share audition info for next year’s choirs and Chamber callbacks soon.
Pop Show Auditions
Pop Show auditions are coming up later this month, including solo and small group performances! Auditions will be held after school on April 22 and 23. There is no set theme for this year’s show, so start brainstorming a song that will bring energy and entertainment to the Pop Show on Tuesday, May 6.
Below is the Pop Show Audition Info Sheet with all the details you need to know. We’ll go over it in class after UIL, but feel free to review it now to better prepare.
TMEA All State Camps 2025
Current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors—it’s time to start thinking about the TMEA All-State audition process for next school year! This is a fantastic opportunity to learn challenging, exciting music with friends while competing for a spot in Region Choir—and possibly even one of the TMEA All-State Choirs! Linked below is a document listing several All-State Choir Camps hosted by major universities across Texas. These camps are crucial for learning the audition music over the summer, especially since the first round of auditions takes place early in the school year.
Anyone interested in auditioning for Chamber Choir: Participation in the All-State process is required this fall, so attending a camp is strongly encouraged.
Check out the list of camps (dates, costs, etc.), and start making some fun summer plans with your choir friends!
