A Message from Admin
Dear Eagle Families,
What an amazing start to our school year! Our Eagles came back ready to work and learn. We have so enjoyed the first nine weeks back with everyone. As the first marking period comes to an end, know that we are busy setting goals, meeting goals and extending ourselves daily. Report cards will be coming home after we return from fall break. They will be shared electronically through Skyward unless you opted for a paper copy at back to school registration.Thank you all for your continued support and collaboration. We can't do this job without a strong school-family partnership!
On a serious, safety note, please know that we are currently partnering with Klein PD, Precinct 4 as well as Klein ISD Communications to provide clearer directions on our dismissal routines and procedures. We currently place cones in our front parking lot at 2:15pm to prevent cars and golf carts from entering as that is a main walkway for our walkers and bikers and we want all students, staff and visitors to Ehrhardt to be safe during dismissal. Unfortunately, some families are moving cones and traveling through the parking lot during dismissal. This is nervewracking for staff who are escorting our walkers out of the building. If your child travels to and from school by car, please use our car rider pick up lane at the back of the building. We move pretty fast now and are done by 3:50pm each day. Thanks to all the families who have toughed it out with us as we practiced our routines over the first few weeks! If your child is a walker, please help us keep that front lot safe by keeping it moving traffic free during the dismissal time. Please stay tuned for some detailed visuals and maps that will help our processes run even more smoothly and thank you to all our families for helping us in keeping Every Eagle Safe!
Sincerely,
Ms. Lorene Wright, Principal
Ms. Jana Lopez, AP
Ms. Kim Wright, AP
A Word from the Library
On October 31, 2024 at 2:15pm we will have our annual Character Day Parade. Please see the flyer below and pre-registration form for more information on joining us for this exciting event!
Cafeteria Visits
Families may begin to join their students for lunches starting on September 3. Please know that our teachers and students have been working very hard to learn and practice our cafeteria behavior expectations. Help us keep our cafeteria safe and eating-focused while you visit your Eagle! We want our students to be able to eat their lunches so they can learn on a full belly all afternoon! If you choose to join for lunch, please be prepared to:
- Bring proper ID and sign in at the front office
- Eat only with your child even if other students' parents have provided permission. This is for student safety around food
- Remain at the family tables closest to the stage area
- Only visit the cafeteria during your visit
- Engage with your student, not your phone! We want you and your student to enjoy lunch together, so please keep those phones tucked away
- Monitor your younger children who might be with you
- Exit the cafeteria when your child's lunch time is done to make room for other visitors
- Sign out at the front office as you leave
We can't wait to welcome families on campus during lunch. Thank you all for your cooperation in these lunch visits!
A Note from our Counselor
We will be hosting a food drive to benefit Bundles of Hope. Please see the flyer below for more information. Donations can be dropped off in the front lobby until November 1. Thank you all for considering participation in this great act of kindness!
Ms. Hutchinson is also leading our campus in a district provided program for families called Parent University. This program provides learning opportunities for parents that cover many aspects of childhood and family life. Be on the look out for the Parent University logo on flyers for campus events. This will let you know you are able to earn Parent University credit for attending sessions during these events. Klein ISD also provides district-wide events that give Parent University credit too. More information can be found on their website at: https://www.kleinisd.net/departments/teaching-learning/college-career-pathways/family-engagement/parent-university
A Note from the Clinic
Vision and Hearing Screenings will be held during school hours on October 29, 30 and November 1. If your child wears glasses already, please make sure they wear them on those days for their screenings. If you receive information home from the clinic, please let us know if we can support you in anyway. Thanks!
If your child will need a prescribed medication while at school, there has been a change to Klein ISD procedures. Prescribed medications will need a written order by a licensed healthcare provider. Clinic staff will not be able to use the prescription label as proof of the written medical order, as in the past. The licensed healthcare provider can use the Klein ISD Medication Authorization form, an action plan, or a letter from their office to provide their signed consent. If you have any questions, please contact our school clinic
We know how important regular attendance is for all students and appreciate everyone's partnership in helping our students be ready and excited to attend school each day. Now that the year is in full swing, please remember that if your child is truly sick they should stay home and not spread germs to others. Simple concerns like small coughs, sniffles or allergies do not always mean your child needs to stay home. Fevers, vomiting and more serious illnesses may result in your child staying home. Missing school days when not ill may have a negative impact on a child's academic, social and emotional successes in school. For more information on why attendance counts, click the picture in this section!
Arrival and Dismissal Information
IMPORTANT SAFETY UPDATE: Guests will not be able to enter the building without a physical ID. Our front office staff will no longer be able to accept photos or screenshots of IDs upon entering the building. Guests without an ID will need to remain in the front office area during their visit.
Our school day begins at 7:45am when doors open. Breakfast can be purchased in the cafeteria from 7:45-8:05. Instruction begins promptly at 8:05am. Please help your child succeed in school by arriving to school on time every day!
If you are looking for a speedier drop off experience, please use the drop off line in the back of the building. This line circles by the cafeteria and back out of the campus property on Rosebrook toward Seven Pines. This line is just a drop off line, with staff ready to greet your children as they walk themselves into the building. For safety reasons, please stay in your vehicle if using this drop off line.
Afternoon car rider line will begin at 3:25 and will end at 3:50. After 3:50 all student pick ups must happen through the Front Office. For the first few days, we will extend car rider to allow everyone to learn the routines. Please look for staff members directing traffic during those times. When arriving in afternoon car rider, please enter the cafteria lot from Seven Pines and make a single line going into the driveway. Do not pull into the parking lot until instructed by staff. Please have your car number displayed on the rearview mirror of the vehicle. After 3:25, a staff member will stand at the corner of Seven Pines and Five Forks. Please slow your vehicle down as you pass that staff member so they may record your number. This will make sure all numbers are communicated inside the building correctly. It is very important that you practice your car rider number with your student at the beginning of the school year. We use numbers and not student names when calling car riders. Knowing your number speeds up the process and gets our students into their vehicles safely.
Car tags can be requested using our Car Tag Request Form by clicking on the picture of the car in this section. Please fill out the form completely and submit. Once submitted, your child will receive a car rider backpack tag as well as a tag to hang on your rear view mirror.
