THE FURTHER ADVENTURES OF PETER, WENDY AND HOOK
Peter Pan returns to the Darling’s nursery in London and convinces Wendy, her brothers, and the Lost Children to return to the Neverland with him to battle the Pirates of the Jolly Roger for island supremacy once again. But is their new leader, the Terrible Blade, really who he says he is? And will the girl power of Wendy, Tiger Lily and Tinkerbell be enough to win in the end? And what role will the Crocodile, Mermaids and Hobgoblins play?

Returning Student Registration
Dear Families,
It is time for you to complete the online Returning Student Registration forms for your student(s). Formerly called Annual Student Update, these forms ask you to update critical information, such as emergency contact information, medical information, and a device agreement form. The update must be completed for all students before the start of the school year.
Please log in to your PowerSchool account to complete this update as soon as possible.
Step-by-step instructions can be found below. If you do not already have an account in PowerSchool, then please refer to the directions below in order to create the account. This process generally takes about 10 minutes per student.
Please note, if student information is not updated by Monday, September 11th, that student may not be allowed to return to school and may have their electronic device (iPad/Chromebook) withheld until their update is complete. If a student without updated information comes to school on September 11, they may be sent home. If you have questions or need assistance, please do not reply to this email, but contact your child's school directly.

If you already have an account in PowerSchool, sign in to your PowerSchool account.
After you have signed in with your username and password:
Look for the student's name as shown on the bar in the upper left-hand corner. Click on the student's name.
Next click “Forms” on the left hand side and then LOOK TO THE RIGHT TO SEE “Returning Student Registration”. It starts with the form called “1. General Student Information”. Complete all forms.
After you complete a form, click “next” to complete the following form.
All forms need to be submitted to be finished with the Returning Student Registration.
Once you finish with this student, move on to the next student by clicking on their name in the upper left-hand corner.
All students must be updated one at a time.
Done!
If the names of other of your children do not appear, you must call your child’s K-12 school and ask for their “Access ID and Access Password”. (If you are in a partner preK program and receiving ACT 166 funds-- please contact Caitlyn in EEE at 802-864-8463.) After you receive this “Access ID and Access Password” information, in PowerSchool, go to:
"Account Preferences" on the menu on the left side.
Click on "Students."
Then "Add Student."
Enter your student's name, their Access ID and Access Password.
Then select your relationship to your student through the Relationship dropdown.
If you are not certain if you have a PowerSchool account, follow these steps:
Go to bsdvt.org or to your school’s home page. Click on this image in the upper right-hand corner of the webpage:

Enter what you think your username and password would be.
Follow the steps for “Forgot Username or Password?” if needed.
If you have never created a PowerSchool account:
Call your school and ask for an access ID and Access Password.
Visit BSD’s PowerSchool login page and click on “Create Account.”
Enter the ID and Password as directed.
PTO Corner
Interested in the Flynn PTO? If you are an adult in the life of a Flynn student, you are already a member! We invite you to participate in the PTO in a way that works for you!
Our next meeting is Thursday, October 5 nd at 6:30 pm. Meetings are held in-person in the Flynn library or via Google Meet (https://meet.google.com/fuj-omkp-bnv). Childcare is provided by the wonderful Ms. Wanda!!

K-2 Playground Meet Up: Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade families! Look for us out on the Flynn Playground next Thursday (9/14) for an informal meet-up to make new connections with other students, families, and caregivers! We'll have kickball, foursquare, and other ball games in progress. Or you can just enjoy the playground equipment! Drop in anytime between 5:30 - 7. Pack a picnic dinner if you like. This event will not happen if it's raining -- fingers crossed for a sunny evening!
Other ways to get involved:
Amazon has decided to discontinue the Amazon Smile program, so now is a great time to start scanning Box Tops. The PTO relies on fundraising and donations to provide events such as Skate Night, the Back to School BBQ, Teacher Mini-Grants, and much more!

Donate via Venmo. The PTO is a non-profit organization that relies on fundraising to continue its support of the Flynn community. If you are able to give a monetary donation to support the PTO programming, then it’s easy! Our Venmo account is @jjflynnpto.
Be part of making our Safe Routes to Schools in Burlington
The Burlington School District, Burlington Public Works, and Local Motion are working together to form a Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Task Force, and we’re looking for community members who want to get involved!
SRTS is a national program that promotes walking and biking through infrastructure improvement, education, and incentives to encourage a culture of walking and biking to school.
Did you know that physical movement at the beginning of the day helps with mental health challenges, increases attention span and improves academic achievement? By walking and biking, students also have the opportunity to connect with peers and gain a connection to their community. In addition to our District-wide Task Force, we envision school-based groups made up of representatives from staff, administrators, parents and interested community members who will collaborate on events, help the City understand issues that need to be addressed, work to address school travel barriers, and more.
