Our Lady of Mercy
NEWSLETTER | TERM 3 | WEEK 7 | 28 August 2024
Dear Parents and Carers
Congratulations to all our One Big Voice choir participants on their outstanding performance last week. This massed choir event is an amazing spectacle and we thank our Choir teacher, Ms Agnello for all her efforts in preparing the children so well.
Today selected students participated in the Spring Sports Carnival. Again thank you to our Physical Education teacher, Mr King for training our students to participate successfully in a variety of sports' as well as setting a high expectation for excellent sportsmanship behaviours.
Both of these events showcased our students talents and made us all proud of their efforts.
As we head towards the final three weeks of term, children naturally start to feel tired. We ask parents to please support your children in getting to bed early so that they are ready to learn each day and participate successfully in the many events still coming up on our calendar.
Finally we wish all Fathers and people who have taken on this role in the lives of our students, a very happy Father's Day on Sunday. You play an invaluable role in the life of your child and we trust that you are well and truly celebrated and that you have a deep sense of the appreciation your loved ones have for you.
God bless you all.
Ondine Komnick
Principal

A visit from deaf author Angela Linfitt and Miss B the Hearing Dog.
A rich learning experience for our Year 3 to 6 Auslan learners, with a visit from deaf author Angela Linfitt and Miss B the Hearing Dog. Angela read her book ‘Miss B the Hearing Dog’ to the students, discussed how Miss B supports her and about her deafness. It was wonderful to see the students use their receptive and expressive Auslan skills.
