ALA Community Update

Next week, we are excited to welcome our dedicated teachers back to campus for professional development sessions. These sessions are essential in preparing our staff to deliver the best educational experience possible for your children in the upcoming school year. We look forward to the energy, creativity, and enthusiasm our teachers will bring as they gear up for another fantastic year at Advanced Learning Academy!

As we prepare for an exciting new school year, we want to remind you of the importance of regular and timely attendance for your child(ren). Consistent attendance is crucial for your child's academic success and helps them stay engaged and connected with their learning community. Please ensure your child is at school every day and arrives on time. Your cooperation in this matter helps create a positive and productive learning environment for all students. The first day of school for our students is Tuesday, August 13, 2024. We look forward to a wonderful year ahead! As a reminder, there were some slight adjustments to the start and stop time for our campus, listed below. Both ALA Euclid and ALA Tech will be receiving students for arrival at 7:30 am.

For PreK-8th grade families needing after school care, information regarding registration for YMCA can be found on the SAISD Extended Day Program website under Sites by Provider and on the YMCA webpage. Registration has become available to our middle school students and we encourage families to register and submit the required documents as soon as possible.

Our Gators Going Back event is this Friday, August 9th! Please come registered on our safe visitors link and your ID. This PreK-3rd Gators Going Back Overview has more information about the event and what to expect.

• PreK Families: Friday, August 9th from 3:30-5:00pm

• Kinder-3rd Grade Families: Friday, August 9th from 4:30-6:30pm

If you are unable to join us at the Gators Going Back events, any village information will be sent out through the Community Update on Sunday, August, 11th.

Our Gators Going Back events are as follows, please come registered on our safe visitors link and your ID.

• 4th-7th grade Gators Going Back is on Tuesday, August 6th from 4:30-6:30 pm.

If you are unable to join us at the Gators Going Back events, the grade-level slideshows will be sent out through the Community Update on Sunday, August, 11th.

Middle School athletics will begin with 7on7 Football and Volleyball on Wednesday Aug. 14th, the second day of school. MS Athletic Coordinator, Coach Birmingham will be available in the Auxiliary Gym after school on Tuesday, Aug. 13 to receive outstanding athletic physicals and check eligibility on Rank One.

All Student-Athletes and Parents must also fill out the SAISD RankOne Athletic forms online that are linked below prior to participating in any athletic program. (https://saisd.rankone.com/New/NewInstructionsPage.aspx)

Tryouts for Volleyball, Cross Country and Swimming/Water Polo will be August 5-7. Students must have a completed/signed physical (on file or in hand) to participate in tryouts. The physical form is linked HERE if needed. All Student-Athletes and Parents must also fill out the SAISD RankOne Athletic forms online that are linked below prior to participating in any athletic program.
