A Note from RMS PTSO:
Hello Riverwatch families –
Once again, we would like to thank our wonderful families who have already donated to PTSO this year! We are now halfway through August, and at a total of 90 families who have generously donated to PTSO. Our goal this year is $12,000 in donations, and we are currently at $6,663, so just over halfway there!
Every dollar donated to RMS PTSO goes back to our students and teachers!
Current family donation participation rates:
6th grade – 10% of students
7th grade – 5% of students
8th grade - 4% of students (same as our last update)
Teachers – 78% of teachers
We are gearing up for our ice cream reward for the grade level winner, but please remember if we don’t hit 75% participation, only students whose families donated to PTSO will be able to partake in this fun treat. The deadline to have your donation counted towards ice cream party participation is August 30. For those families planning on donating at the Panther and Pride levels, the deadline to be eligible to be entered into the spirit wear raffle basket is August 23 (next Friday).
Visit the PTSO website at DONATE TODAY.
As a reminder, your membership fee is a tax-deductible donation to the RMS PTSO (a 501c3), and is eligible for corporate matching programs if your organization offers that. Membership does not obligate you to attend meetings, volunteer your time, or fund subsequent activities this school year. Thank you for your help in contributing to Riverwatch.

#RMStheGOLDstandard Spotlight!
8th grade Engineering Connections learned about the importance of packaging engineering through an egg drop competition! Students designed and built containers for their eggs, tested them, and then took them outside for the ultimate Egg Drop tester, Mr. James to make the 10-foot drop. In class, they used the landing of the first Mars Rover as inspiration for the container shapes, as well as parachute designs. Congratulations to our winners: Maddie W., Solomiia R., and Hasini K.!

We are pleased to announce that the Riverwatch Symphonic Band has been invited to perform at the Reinhardt University Middle School Honor Band Clinic. According to the organizers, there was a record number of applications this year, and we are one of two bands selected (the other being our neighbor, South Forsyth Middle School). Congratulations to our amazing students on this accomplishment, as well as our friendly neighbors!
The concert will be on Friday, November 8th at 7:00 pm in the Falany Performing Arts Center. All are welcome to attend the concert!
We look forward to showcasing our fantastic students at the Reinhardt Middle School Honor Band Clinic. Thank you for the unwavering support of the performing arts programs here at Riverwatch!
