Dear Friends and Supporters of OLQA,

Hoping you are doing well as we approach this holiday season! We wanted to update you as we start Quarter 2 here at Our Lady Queen of Angels School. Although it was a busy start to the year as we transitioned from Partnership School back to the Archdiocese of New York, excellence continues to flourish here at OLQA!

As we embark on this new chapter in the school's history, we continue to thrive and grow. The first quarter was marked with several highlights, such as our continued partnership with Convent of the Sacred Heart, whose volunteers assist with both TACHS Prep and have started an after school Latin Program with our students. Students continue to participate in activities like tennis at the John McEnroe Tennis Project and our CYO Basketball Team, and we are excited to expand opportunities such as Dance Workshop with American Youth Dance Theater.

The idea of cura personalis, or developing the whole person, is core to how we form our students to be both academically excellent and fully developed people. As we approach the holiday season, consider supporting OLQA by sponsoring enrichment opportunities for our students or thinking of us this Giving Tuesday. Support for our enrichment programming is especially appreciated, as your support can help spark a lifelong passion in one of our students. Ways to make a direct impact in the lives of our young people are listed below.

With Mass for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, the OLQA Christmas Concert, and our annual Nativity Pageant all coming up in the next month or so, there are plenty of great opportunities to visit. This Giving Tuesday, December 3, consider supporting us here at Our Lady Queen of Angels. Investing in Catholic Education for our students in one of the surest ways to impact the life trajectory of a young person. With over $1.6 million in high school scholarships and financial aid awarded to the Class of 2024, you are truly helping put our students on the path to college and career success!

Each year, our 4th and 5th Grade students participate in Dancing Classrooms, a 10 week program where they learn Ballroom Dance with a Teaching Artist. It culminates in a final show where the students perform for parents.

Many of our families make major financial sacrifices to afford a Catholic School tuition. With the uncertainty of our current economy and the high cost of living, a parent losing a job or a medical emergency can make the cost of tuition out of reach. The fund is used for need based tuition assistance when families experience unexpected hardships and life events.
