Spring Term - 6th February 2025

Message from the Executive Headteacher
Dear Parents/Carers,
This week the children attended an assembly to introduce Place2Be's Children's Mental Health week. This week they will take part in a lesson around the theme 'Know Yourself, Grow Yourself"; to enable children to discuss a range of emotions and how they could react in a variety of scenarios to support themselves and their wellbeing. There is more information below.
We are pleased to welcome the book fair again next week, this is so popular and HPPA are running it for the school. Please do support it if you can as it allows us to gain books for the classes and library free of charge.
The HPPA clothing collection is next Tuesday and again supports the school so please have a clear out and bring in any unwanted clothing in a black bag on Tuesday morning straight to the Honeycomb.
Yesterday Mrs Cranston (Choir leader and HISN teacher) took the choir to the O2 to sing as part of the Young Voices programme. She will provide more details of this wonderful event but I wanted to thank all the staff from HJS who made this possible as it was a very long day.
Last week HPPA hosted the HJS school disco, it was a great event and very busy with children from all years showing off their moves. Thanks to all of the volunteers of HPPA and to the teaching staff who made this event such a success.
Finally, Miss Peaty will be starting her maternity leave on Friday, we wish her well and look forward to meeting her new arrival soon. Mr Simon Hall will be taking over 4P, he is already part of HPP and known to all the children.
Have a great weekend once it arrives.
Ms H Lockey
