SAT Information

Please complete this form to register for the October 9th SAT Exam at HMBHS (12th graders only). All questions must be answered completely and must match the data in our school's student information system (ex. If your birth name is Joseph but you typically go by Joe, please answer with "Joseph" in the "First Name" prompt).
After registering for the SAT Exam, please submit payment of $70 (via check or cash) to Ms. Acosta in the front office. Make the check out to HMBHS. In the memo line, please write SAT - [student name]. Payment must be received by September 20th, 2024, otherwise your registration will be canceled.
Please contact Mrs. Tower if you have (1) any questions about registration/payment, and/or (2) a request for accommodations that align with your IEP or 504.
PSAT/NMSQT

After registering for the PSAT/NMSQT Exam, please submit payment of $35 via Total Registration. Payment must be received by September 27th, 2024, otherwise your registration will be canceled. Link to Total Registration: www.TotalRegistration.net/PSAT/051120
AP Exam Information

2024-2025 AP Exams Registration Deadlines and Fees
Go to myap.collegeboard.org to create an account or access your existing account.
Important: Make sure your account is linked to your personal email account, not your school email account. With your school email account, you may miss notifications from the College Board and you won’t be able to access your account after you graduate.
Enroll in your AP class by using the Join Code provided by your AP teacher (Mrs. Tower can also provide you with Join Codes)
Confirm your registration for the AP Exam(s). You have the choice of taking or not taking the exam but you must make that designation through MyAP. You need to confirm your registration for each AP course in which you are enrolled. The default setting is “Undecided.” You must indicate YES or NO for the exam. “Undecided” will automatically switch to “No” after the deadline.
Deadlines:
Register for exam(s) by September 30th, 2024
Late Registration between October 1st, 2024 and February 28th, 2025
You must see Mrs. Tower for late registration. You will not be able to register online after September 30th, 2024.
Fees:
$105 if registered for exam by September 30th, 2024
$40 fee for late registration (from October 1st, 2024 to February 28th, 2025)
$40 for unused/canceled exam
Fee Reduction Forms due by September 23rd, 2024
Payment is made through Total Registration. Link can be found on our website.
Payment must be made by October 15th, 2024 in order for the exam(s) to be ordered for you.

San Mateo county Jobs for Youth
The San Mateo County Jobs for Youth (JFY) program is coming to HMBHS! The first workshop of the year will be on September 25th during advisory. Workshops are open to all students but have a limit of 40 students, so sign up now! The deadline to register is Friday, September 20th. All students who attend a JFY workshop are also eligible to apply for the annual JFY $2,000 scholarship so don't miss this opportunity!

Free Tutoring

Beginning September 10th, Jay and Leo will be offering free math and science tutoring every EVEN (Black Bell Schedule) Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in room G8, from 3:45 to 5 PM. Please drop by, and we'll assess how we can assist your child in math or science. If these hours don't fit your student's schedule, students can always get in touch with Jay or Leo individually via text through the Remind app, to arrange Zoom or one-on-one appointments either within or outside of school hours. Here are the steps for students to follow on their phones:
1. Text the number 81010.
2. Send the message @ljlaux or @tutorjayt, depending on the tutor you prefer, and it will connect them. Their contact information is also provided for parents below. (Students may also send Jay or Leo an email, but it would need to be from a personal account, and not the Cabrillo email associated with their student ID #).

Real Life Learning

The HMBHS Real Life Learning (RLL) program links students with chances to engage in real-world situations and gain authentic experiences during their time in high school. Karen Hoffman, the Program Coordinator, is available on campus on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, offering office hours during lunch, advisory sessions, or by appointment.
Already there are so many exciting opportunities to get involved in our community and some with deadlines fast approaching!

I hope this school year is going well for your family. We greatly value the contributions our families make by volunteering at HMBHS. Due to recent changes in the Educational Code and CUSD policy, we now require all volunteers, chaperones, and drivers who will be in direct contact with students to undergo a vetting process.
