Letter From Our Administration
October 10, 2024
Dear SkyView Academy Community,
As we embark on this new school year, we want to extend a warm welcome to each of you. This year promises to be filled with exciting opportunities for learning, growth, and community. As we are now in October, we are excited to focus on this month’s "Capturing Kids' Hearts" Trait: Self-Direction.
Self-direction is about taking responsibility for one’s own learning and actions. It encourages students to set goals, manage their time, and make choices that lead to personal growth and success.
This is a strong trait that I focus on with all of our students. Self-direction is the first step that each student should take to begin to think about what they are doing now and how it will affect them in the future. For example, grades. The grades that show up on your student's transcript starting in 9th grade stay with your students until they graduate and go on to College, or get a job. I remind our students that each day is a chance to explore new ideas and challenge themselves. They should embrace curiosity, ask questions, and support one another as they navigate their educational journey.
To our students: This month, challenge yourself to be proactive in your studies. Set goals for what you want to achieve, ask for help when you need it, and reflect on your progress. Remember, you have the power to direct your own journey!
Parents can provide ongoing support and partnership. Your involvement is crucial to your student’s success, and we encourage you to stay engaged and connected with your student's educational progression and our school community.
To our parents: Your encouragement at home is essential. Discuss the importance of self-direction with your children and help them create a plan for their goals. Celebrate their achievements, no matter how small, to motivate them further.
Together, let’s empower our students to take charge of their learning and develop skills that will benefit them for years to come. Let’s make this year a positive and enriching experience for everyone. We look forward to the great things we will accomplish together and look forward to seeing the impact of self-direction within our school community.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Angela Kamman

SkyView Earns AP Honor Roll Achievements
SkyView Academy is honored to announce that our High School has earned a place on the College Board's AP School Honor Roll for the 2023-24 school year!
The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools that have done outstanding work to welcome more students into AP courses and support them on the path to college success.
Research shows students who take AP courses and exams are more likely to attend college and graduate on time. The students who enter four-year colleges with credit from AP accelerate their path to graduation and build confidence for college success. And even for those who don’t earn college credit, AP coursework provides early exposure to college-level work and contributes to a college-going school culture.
High School Students Enjoy More College Visits!
Students learned about student life, merit-based scholarships and a possible home away from home!

The event will include team-building activities, workshops, reflection, and plenty of fun.
