Bobcat Bulletin
Week of August 26th
Week of September 30th
From the Desk of Principal Schmid
Hello Bobcat Families,
Thank you to ALL who have supported Brookdale Team IPEF's fundraising efforts! We started our fundraising efforts back in the spring with Bubble Gum Sales, a Kane County Cougar Game, and the Bobcat Running Club. The fun continued this year with Bubble Gum Sales, Fall Running Club, and our culminating fundraising event Friday, Movie Night Mania! Not only have these events raised money for an awesome cause (See the IPEF section below!), but they also have brought great memories for our students and staff. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of making these possible from volunteering time or giving a donation. There is still time to donate to support the team until 10/1! Will we be the highest fundraising team of the district? The numbers are being calculated as we speak--stay tuned! Be sure to check out the photos below for some fun captured at these events and come out to cheer on the team on 10/20 in Downtown Naperville!
This week we had the opportunity to meet with grade-level teams as we analyzed our benchmarking data and allocated needed supports for students. Thank you to our interventionist, Carol Bramstedt, who makes data meetings fun for our staff! One of the many strengths of the Dream Team Staff is their ability to creatively problem solve, ensuring we are meeting the needs of all students with the focus on growing each of them to their best potential! Our additional supports for reading and math begin on Monday. If your child is receiving any additional supports beyond classroom instruction, you will receive a letter via backpack mail.
Our field trip experiences for students have kicked off! Thank you to all our volunteers who have helped make this possible--what great memories and learning opportunities for our students out in our community (Check out some photos below!)! Speaking of wonderful experiences...we are ready to kick off our Bobcat Fun Run Spirit Week this week! Be sure to check out the PTA section below for all the fun days planned this week. Tomorrow--get your superhero shirt (or colors!) ready!
It's always a great time to be a Bobcat, but it sure feels extra special these days! Thanks for all your support in making it all possible for our students and staff!

REMINDERS
Important Reminder
We want to remind our community that students should not be bringing toys to school, especially those that look like weapons. While these toys may seem harmless, they can cause unnecessary concern and distractions within the school environment.
Please be reminded that our school and district have a strict policy against bringing any type of toy weapon to school. We understand that, in many cases, parents may not be aware that these toys are in their child's backpack. Therefore, we kindly ask that you help support these efforts by having conversations with your child about the importance of keeping toys at home and checking his/her backpack regularly.
The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority, and maintaining a positive, focused learning environment is essential. We appreciate your partnership in keeping our school a safe place for all.

This Year's Safety Drills
Our school’s highest priority is the safety of our students and staff. In order to maintain a safe environment, it is necessary that we practice our emergency and crisis response plans.
We are required by the Illinois School Safety Drill Act (105 ILCS 128/1) to conduct a minimum of six safety drills per school year to ensure that our staff and students know their role and are prepared to act during a potential crisis. These safety drills are designed to protect students from danger in and around a school.
We do not conduct surprise drills. We teach students that drills are for practice, and we when practicing, we want to learn and grow from these experiences. We will conduct our safety drills on the following days and times this school year:
Building Evacuation/Fire
