SHS will be having a Teacher vs. Student volleyball game on Wednesday during activity period. Tickets will be sold before school and at lunch in the cafeteria for $3. You must have a ticket to leave class. This money will help us reach our Make-a-Wish goal

Congratulations to Sparkman's Kya Evangeline Qvale, selected as an Alabama Public Television 2017 Young Heroes of Alabama winner. The Young Heroes are selected on the basis of excellence in academics, school involvement, community support -- and, most importantly, having overcome some sort of extraordinary difficulty or hardship.

Each winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship, a state-of-the-art tablet, and other gifts from the contest sponsors. They will be recognized by the Alabama Legislature on Thursday, April 14, 2017.

Congrats to Abigail Batt for being Student Of the Month @CareerTechCntr! Abigail is a 10th grade student at Sparkman High School and is currently enrolled in the 1st year Cosmetology program.

Our JV Boys seal the deal with a 1-0 victory in the championship game of the 2017 JV Supercup! Way to go Sparkman JV Boys and Coach Rolfsen!

Throughout the tournament, John David Ray led the way with 2 goals and 1 assist, and Griffin Wikoff scored 2 goals. Adam Thomas scored 1 goal. James Morris & Parker Muery each chipped in one assist each. No tournament MVP was named, but John David Ray certainly merits a nod. All the boys played extremely well and they have the trophy to prove it!

The Sparkman High School Chamber Choir and Women's Choir competed at the Alabama Vocal Association's State Choral Performance Assessment (SCPA) Tuesday, March 21 in Decatur Alabama. Both groups received straight SUPERIOR ratings (the highest rating available) in their performance and sight-reading adjudications from judges from the University of Alabama, Samford University, the University of Alabama at Huntsville and First Presbyterian Church Huntsville. Congratulations on your outstanding performances Senators!!

Congratulations! Sparkman history and journalism teacher Erin Coggins has been named the VFW's Post 5162 History Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Coggins will compete at the district level later this month.
