Taylor Elementary
4/14-4/17
The end of the year is near, and we’re committed to finishing strong! Let’s keep the momentum going as we support our students in doing their very best.
This Tuesday, April 15, our 5th grade students will take the STAAR Science test. Please help us set them up for success by ensuring they get a good night’s rest, eat a healthy breakfast, and arrive on time. Remember: NO VISITORS THAT DAY.
Also on Tuesday, we invite all students and staff to wear purple in honor of Military Child Appreciation Day. Let’s celebrate the strength and resilience of our military families! 💜
We’re excited for the PTO-sponsored Egg Hunt happening during the school day on Wednesday, and a reminder that there will be no school on Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21st.
Let’s make this a strong and spirited week, Texans!

Traffic Flow
When entering the horseshoe for drop-off, please be mindful of which exit lane you will need:
🚗 Left lane – for those turning left onto Alsbury
🚗 Right lane – for those continuing straight onto Heberle or turning right onto Alsbury
Recently, we’ve noticed some disruptions when cars switch lanes at the last minute, creating unnecessary delays and frustration for others in line. Planning ahead and choosing the correct lane upon entering the drop-off area will help keep traffic flowing efficiently and reduce unnecessary congestion.
Unfortunately, it has also caused for some of our cones to be ran over. Please be aware of the safety cones.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping drop-off safe and stress-free for everyone. We appreciate your patience and attention to these guidelines.
Attendance
GOAL: 95%
Congratulations to 5th Grade! You may wear pajamas on Thursday!
Texas Truancy Laws
In Texas, state law requires children between the ages of 6 and 19 to attend school regularly. Truancy occurs when a student has unexcused absences that total 10 or more days (or parts of days) within a six-month period. Chronic absenteeism may result in legal consequences for parents and guardians, so it’s important to ensure that absences are excused and limited to necessary situations like illness or family emergencies.
Our Attendance Policy
To ensure clarity, please note the following guidelines:
- 3 tardies = 1 unexcused absence
- 3 unexcused early check-outs = 1 unexcused absence
We encourage families to plan appointments and vacations outside of school hours whenever possible. If you know your child will be absent, please notify the school promptly and provide documentation to excuse the absence.
Thank you for partnering with us to prioritize your child’s education. Together, we can help them build a bright future, one school day at a time!

- 3 tardanzas = 1 ausencia injustificada
- 3 salidas tempranas injustificadas = 1 ausencia injustificada
