Principal Message - Kanika A. Burks
Good Morning MCP: Lola Rowe North Families,
Trust is the assured reliance on the character, ability, strength or truth of something or someone. My'Zara G., Class of 2028, represented Dillard University during our All School Assembly on Monday. She was excited and nervous about reciting the DOE. She even whispered in my ear that she didn't remember all of the words. As a result, I asked Jamier R, Class of 2023, from Morgan State University to recite the DOE with My'Zara. I even provided My'Zara the words of the DOE. Y'all...My'Zara took that microphone and recited the DOE LOUD AND PROUD! She knew if she stumbled she has a person (Jamier) and a paper (the DOE on the back of an MCP folder) to rely on to make sure that she could successfully recite the DOE! WAY to go My'Zara and Jamier (pictured above)!!
There are time when we are faced with the challenges of reality, but we must know that we can rely on one another to ensure that WE are successful!
- Whether middle school or elementary school, WE NEED EACH OTHER!
- Whether a scholar or a staff member, WE NEED EACH OTHER!
- Whether a parent or an educator, WE NEED EACH OTHER!
- Whether a member of the MCP Family or a part of the Milwaukee Community, WE NEED EACH OTHER!!!
As MCP:LRN leads with love this year, I leave with the words of Al Green:
"Let's stay together!
Loving you whether,
Whether good or bad, happy or sad!
Let's stay together!!!
Congratulations to VIPs Ms. Hull and Ms. Mitchell, winners of our DOE Week Raffle!!

Families,
Scholar-athletes are participants in school-based/school-sponsored activities. Scholars who participate in school-based/school-sponsored activities are held to all of the expectations and policies in the 2023 - 2024 MCP Family Handbook. Remember:
- Scholars cannot leave the MCP: LRN campus to go to Tasty Twist, Checkers, the gas station or another campus to watch a game between the end of the academic school day and the end of the school-based event. Permission cannot be granted to a scholar from a parent via telephone, text or verbal approval to the scholar or a staff member. We prioritize keeping all MCP scholars safe and supervised while participating in school-based activities.
- MCP scholars, staff and families are expected to embody our school mission, TRECK Values and the Declaration of Excellence at all times - during the school day and school-based activities. All times even means while we are in the community!! For example: If your words or actions are not lifting someone higher, please refrain from those words and actions. We cannot empower others negativity, we have to strive to make our good better and our better best.
Each day, all of us are striving to make a better tomorrow for ourselves, our families and our communities!!!
We look forward to seeing you at Senior Night: Volleyball Edition!!!
