KILLAM PUBLIC SCHOOL

Treaty Acknowledgement
We acknowledge that Killam Public School is on Treaty 6 territory - the ancestral and traditional land of many Indigenous groups. We are grateful for the animals, the water and the forests that provide us with many resources we use each day. We are thankful for the diverse opportunities that this land offers. We respect the land in which we gather on today.

Principal's Message
As we approach the end of the school year, it’s a time for reflection, celebration and gratitude. We’ve navigated challenges, embraced opportunities, achieved some amazing accomplishments.
Athletics have been a highlight at KPS this year. Students have had many opportunities to participate in both individual and team sports from grade 5 - 9. We are so proud of the dedication, exceptional sportsmanship and skills on the field, court and track. We are grateful for those individuals that have made commitments to our athletes through coaching, supervising and driving. Without our athletics volunteers, we would not be able to offer the experiences that this allows.
On Wednesday, June 26 at 7 pm KPS will host our Grade 9 Farewell and Junior High awards night at 7 pm in the gym. Please join us to celebrate
The end of the school year brings many changes. At the end of June, we will bid a fond farewell to Mr. Bailey, Miss. Andersen and Mrs. Antos. The opportunity to work alongside these three amazing teachers has been a pleasure - thank you for everything. We wish Mrs. Antos and Miss. Andersen well as they continue to teach at CHSPS and, to Mr. Bailey, we can’t wait to see what your future holds! We also bid farewell to Ms. Brusse who just joined us in May as an educational assistant - good luck with your schooling!
On behalf of KPS staff, we wish everyone a fantastic summer and we are excited to see you in the fall. To our Grade 9 students who are moving on next year, we wish you well as you embark on an exciting new journey full of possiblities. We hope you will cherish the memories and friendships made at KPS and the lessons you have learned along the way.
To our parents, thank you for supporting us throughout the year. Without our amazing School Council and parent volunteers, our school would look very different. We encourage all our parents to be involved and join us in supporting student success.
Let’s enjoy our last two weeks!
