The Buzz
Autumn Term -17th October 2024
Message from the Executive Headteacher
Dear Parents/Carers,
What an exciting week we had! I hope you enjoyed the Buzz special edition around the filming and seeing the school transformed into a winter snowscape. The children were amazed and very interested in the whole filming process.
This week we held our Harvest assembly. The Real Junk Food Project delivered the assembly and let the children know how important their donation was to supporting others. Thank you for your generous donations of food items.
Thank you to HPPA who has been busy collecting clothing for Rags2 Riches which is great for recycling but also brings in valuable funds to the school. See below for the updated amounts and thank you for your donations.
Despite it being the final week before half term we are still very busy with year 6 children bringing their bicycles and spending time learning to ride them safely and responsibly. Flu immunisations will also be given to children whose parents have authorised this. The final of the whole school poetry competition will take place next Friday with the four finalists battling it out in our own poetry slam!
This week we also announced the winners of the praise postcard competition. I hope you like the new cards which showcase the wonderful artwork of four of our children and are always welcome when arriving at home.
We have now started our open morning for year 3 for next September, these can be booked on the website.
Finally, we will be participating in the local Remembrance Parade on 10th November. We are looking for 2 or 3 children to volunteer to represent the school. Children will need to wear their school uniform. If you would like to volunteer please contact the school office for further details.
We close for the half term break on Friday 25th at 3.15pm.
Ms H Lockey

Oliver in 6E took part in the Scouting Day Prowl last Saturday in Great Windsor Park. Starting at 0830 and ending around 5pm. He hiked all day and took part in challenges at all the stations along the route such as ‘name the wild flowers’ ‘matching countries and their flags’. They hiked 19km and the team did really well. Their scout leader wrote this praise:
‘A huge well done to our scout Day Prowl team on not only successfully completing the hike unaccompanied but finishing 6th out of 20 Scout/Guide teams. Their result is even more fantastic given that the team were so young in age with an average age of 11!!!"
