Aisha Zenou
Meet our amazing star, Aisha Zenou who turned academic challenges into triumphs! Her fun personality and witty sense of humor shine through the halls of Centennial, adding to the family-oriented culture of the school. Read below as she shares her academic journey with us and describes how she was able to make a huge shift, despite experiencing a difficult Freshman year.
Q: Can you tell us about a specific academic accomplishment or project you are particularly proud of?
A: Most of high school, I've had failing grades since we started during COVID and I was not good with online classes and time management. My mental health was pretty bad during my sophomore year and I grew up too fast. But senior year, I was able to turn it all around and I now have a 4.0. I was on honor roll the first semester as well. I was also on Homecoming court this year, as a way to put myself out there a little more and get more involved with the school so I am proud of that as well.
Q: Are there specific individuals or role models who inspire you in your academic and extracurricular pursuits?
A: After high school, I want to become a teacher. A lot of the teachers who helped me grow to the person I am today inspired me to become of a teacher because of how they interact with their students and you can tell that they genuinely care rather than just being there for a job. A great example is Ms. Rabadue, because I had her for APEX and she is apart of the reason I am graduating today. She let me talk to her and confide in her and she was one of the only teachers who always believed in me.
Q: What was something that motivated you to start putting more effort towards school?
A: I realized that we are lucky to be here and to have helpful teachers around us who are able and willing to help us when they can. When teachers used to try to help me, I would push them away but then I noticed that they are just here to make me better and this is my last year here so I really wanted to take advantage of that.
