BFH Falcons' View
June 3 to 8, 2024

Principal's Message,
Dear Falcon students and families,
I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! We had another fast paced week last week with many of our students excelling in the classroom or on the athletic field of play! Both of our Senior Soccer teams did phenomenal, winning their respective playoff games and moving on to this week's big semi-final match ups. As well our Grads had a great time taking part in Grad Theme week days, where they dressed up in everything from Barbecue Dads & Soccer Moms to Country vs. Country Club themed outfits. Our amazing students also took part in Metro Unified Games Jamboree and fared very well against all the other Edmonton area schools within this fantastic inclusive event.
This upcoming week is proving to be one of the busiest this year at Bev Facey. For the majority of the week, we will be diligently preparing for our 2024 Graduation Ceremony and Grad 2024 Facey Formal on June 8. Along with all this activity, our General Music: Rock & Pop classes will be hosting their Final Concert night on June 6 at 7:00 p.m. in the Main Gym. Another important activity this week will be the start of some of our part A Final Exams for our Gr. 10 & 11 students. Finally, we also want to wish Jayden Tieulie, one of our Grads this year, good luck as he will be competing this Friday in the 2024 ASAA provincial track & field championships.
On that note, I hope you all have an excellent Sunday evening and a fantastic week, and, as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Unlocking Opportunities: The Benefits of AP Classes
College Preparedness: AP courses simulate college-level rigor, aiding in the development of vital academic skills and study habits necessary for success in higher education.
Dual Admission Advantage: Some post-secondary institutions consider either AP scores or high school grades for admission, offering students completing AP exams during high school an beneficial entry pathway.
University Credits: Excelling on AP exams can result in earning college credits, potentially reducing the number of courses required in college, thus saving time and money.
Diverse Student Population: AP courses are accessible to students with a strong work ethic.
Demonstrating Potential: AP courses provide opportunities for students to exhibit their capabilities and dedication, regardless of consistent high averages, showcasing readiness for college-level studies to prospective colleges and universities.
University of Alberta's Dual-Admission Advantage
If you're taking AP exams along with your high school courses, the University of Alberta will use the higher grade between your AP score and your high school grade for admission. This ensures you're not at a disadvantage for taking AP exams.
