NJHS
Franklin’s National Junior Honor Society Shines at Taft Galloway’s Trunk or Treat!
This past Wednesday, members of Franklin Middle School’s National Junior Honor Society volunteered at Taft Galloway’s Trunk or Treat event, and they did an incredible job! Our students stepped up to assist with passing out candy and food, helping the families, and ensuring the kids had a memorable time.
The energy, enthusiasm, and hard work our NJHS members brought to the event made a huge impact, and their presence added so much to the community. Whether helping set up, assisting with filling empty buckets, or simply interacting with the kids, they represented Franklin with pride and care.
We are proud of our students for showing leadership and making a difference for local families. Great job, Hornets!
DIA Field Trip
On Friday, October 18, Franklin Middle School 7th and 8th grade students from Spanish and World Language Classes along with staff and parent chaperones went to the Detroit Institute of Arts to view the annual Ofrendas exhibit about Mexico's Day of the Dead. This was possible due to the DIA's field trips available to Wayne, Oakland and Macomb county schools. Students made Wayne-Westland proud with their amazing museum behavior.
No School November 5th
Dear Families and Staff,
The district and the teachers' union have been working together on contract negotiations over the past several months. While we have not yet finalized all calendar dates, we have agreed to hold a district-wide professional development day on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. As a result, there will be no school for students on that day.
Thank you for your patience, and we will continue to share updates as more information becomes available.
Sincerely,
Jen Curry
Acting Superintendent
