WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH
As we wrap up Women's History Month we want to say
THANK YOU
to all the women out there for everything you do!
Especially our very own MUJERES MARAVILLOSAS
😁 Great news Graves parents, WE DID IT! 😁
We met our goal of having 20% parent participation on our 5 essentials survey. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to share your thoughts on the important elements of your child’s school. When these results are ready, we will be able to understand what we are doing well and what we need to improve on to make our school the best it can be.

Celebrating She-roes: Women's History Month!
This March, we are buzzing with excitement for Women's History Month! It's a fantastic opportunity to nurture social-emotional learning by celebrating the achievements of incredible women who dared to dream big and make a positive impact.
Throughout the month, your child will be exploring the stories of inspiring women – scientists, athletes, artists, leaders, and everyday heroes! We'll be discussing the qualities that make these women strong, resilient, and role models for us all.
Here's how you can participate at home!
- Talk about the women you admire: Who inspires you? Share stories about your mom, grandma, a favorite author, or a historical figure.
- Read books about amazing women: Many libraries and bookstores have wonderful children's biographies about inspiring women. Explore these together as a family!
- Create something together: Draw a picture, write a poem, or make a craft that celebrates a woman who inspires you.
Women's History Month is a chance to celebrate the power of believing in yourself and achieving your dreams. Let's work together to instill confidence and courage in our future generation!
A Note from the Nurses' Department 👩⚕️👩⚕️👩⚕️
Let's hope the spring season brings us a decline in cold/flu/strep cases! Keep practicing good hand hygiene, it is the most important way to prevent the spread of viruses and communicable diseases!
- Loyola mobile van will be at Graves/HMS on April 9th, 2024. All appointments are booked! Thank you to the families who signed up! The van will return again in September. Stay tuned for more information!
- “Once a week, take a peek” We have seen an increase in lice cases at Graves.
Head lice are a common problem, especially in elementary aged children. They spread easily from person to person, and sometimes are tough to get rid of.
Head lice are annoying, but they're not dangerous and they don't spread disease.
To help prevent/treat lice:
- Avoid head to head contact with others
- Don't try on hats that belong to other kids.
- Never share a comb, brush, barrettes, or other hair accessories. Use your own, and don't lend them to anyone else.
- Always use your own sleeping bag and pillow when sleeping away from home.
- When live lice is found, the health office will provide over the counter treatment when available.
PreK and Kindergarten students will be sent home immediately when live lice is seen. Students grades 1-8 may finish the school day.
Students must return to school with evidence of treatment evaluated by the school health office.
Have a healthy spring break! 😎
