PICTURES AND NEWS
VISITS WITH THE QUEEN
Each Spring, Ms. Darcie organizes visits with the Queen to our youngest students' classrooms. During each visit, the Queen shares tea and biscuits with the students before seeing them individually. During those meetings, she grants each student a wish. They can choose to be knighted or made into princesses, kings or queens. These are magical visits for the PreK students.
TRACK TEAM GATHERING
Wednesday afternoon (4-10-2024) proved to be a wet one which led both the SACS and SATEC track coaches to assemble in the St. Albans City School large gym instead. SACS and SATEC athletes will be spending a lot of time together in practices and competitions in the coming month. Wednesday's meeting was a good opportunity to get to know each other during an introduction assembly and games of indoor tag.
Until Ms. Grudev came to City School we did not offer track. Her skills and personality attracted a large team last year and this year an equally large group have signed up for the sport. Here is a team picture of the athletes. There are students in 4th - 7th grades. Coach Grudev is on the far left with her infant and coach Jillian is on the far right.

TESTING TIME - SPRING FEVER RECESS VIDEO
The combination of being able to get outside and away from testing for a brief period, and considerably warmer temperatures, have made recent recesses loud and active. Check out this 40-second long video clip from the past few days.
THE TETHERBALLS ARE BACK FOR USE
The tetherballs are removed from their poles in winter because the balls become hard and painful to get hit with in cold temperatures. Now that they are back up, it would be great if no-one sat on them so that they will last until the end of the school year and into the summer.
Most people don't seem interested in the rules of tetherball. However if you want to play competitively you may want to watch this 2 1/2 minute video to learn some of the basic tetherball rules.
Link to Video. Note: the tetherball pole next to the four square shelter was put up over 10 years ago. The students shown in this video are now graduates from high school and beyond.
