From The Superintendent's Desk
Superintendent message
October is Principal Appreciation Month! I am honored to spotlight the incredible leaders who make our schools vibrant, supportive, and successful places for students, teachers, staff, and families alike. Our principals go the extra mile every day, ensuring that each child feels valued, safe, and empowered to learn.
Our principals are juggling many demands, and yet they still find time to make a difference for our students. As a beginning teacher, I personally witnessed the impact a principal can have on a student.
A student at my school was struggling emotionally and academically. The principal noticed that something was off and stepped in to help. The principal invited the student to the office – not to discuss academics or behavior but simply to talk. Over the course of that conversation, the principal listened intently and offered words of encouragement, understanding, and reassurance.
Realizing the student needed extra support, he reached out to the student’s teacher, arranged for tutoring, and even worked with the family to ensure they had everything needed to thrive at school. The principal made sure to check in regularly, walking with the student to class and offering a friendly smile or encouraging words whenever possible.
Over time, the student began to flourish again and their confidence returned as they embraced their love of learning. All thanks to the principal’s Courage to step up and help, Compassion to understand the needs, and Conviction to help a student.
This story is just one of many examples of how our principals work tirelessly behind the scenes to support students, teachers, and families. We are incredibly grateful for their leadership, kindness, and unwavering commitment to creating nurturing environments where every child can succeed.
Please take a moment this month to thank your school’s principal for their incredible work!

Ask the Superintendent
With the launch of the new Intervention Model, a renewed focus on Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and our continued emphasis on student success, we know teachers and staff are working tirelessly to support every student’s learning journey. As we implement these initiatives, you may have questions about the changes, or even about processes that remain the same.
Let’s get those questions answered!
Starting this week, I will be addressing your questions in this section of the employee newsletter. Please feel free to submit any inquiries through the following link: Ask the Superintendent

Cyber Awareness Month
Why Cyber Awareness Matters- Cyber threats are constantly evolving, and even small mistakes can lead to breaches that compromise sensitive information. By staying vigilant, we protect not only the district’s systems but also the personal information of our students and ourselves.
Cyber Awareness Tips:
- Use Strong Passwords: Create unique passwords for each system and regularly update them. Consider using a password manager.
- Be Aware of Phishing Scams: Look out for suspicious emails, especially those asking for personal or sensitive information. When in doubt, don’t click links or download attachments.
- Update Software Regularly: Ensure that your devices and applications are up to date with the latest security patches.
- Lock Devices: Always lock your screen when stepping away from your computer or mobile device, even for a short time.
- Data Protection: When handling student records or personal data, ensure it’s only shared with authorized individuals.
Thank you for your dedication!
