Principal Message
Dear Rossi Owls,
March is here, and with it comes a sense of excitement and anticipation for the many activities and events happening at our wonderful school. As we bid farewell to winter, we welcome the promise of spring and a season filled with growth, learning, and fun.
Celebrating Achievements:
I am thrilled to highlight the outstanding achievements of our students and staff over the past month. From academic accomplishments to acts of kindness, our Rossi community continues to shine bright. Please join me in congratulating all our students for their hard work and dedication.
Upcoming Events and Reminders:
Read Across America Week (March 3rd-7th): We celebrated the joy of reading with a week full of literary activities and themed dress-up days. We loved everyone's participation and how they showed their enthusiasm for books! Thank you to all the Guest Readers - it is our favorite time of the year!!
Parent-Teacher Conferences (March 26th & 27th): We value the partnership between parents and teachers in supporting student success. Parent-Teacher Conferences are an excellent opportunity to discuss your child's progress, share insights, and set goals for the remainder of the school year.
Daylight Saving Time: As we spring forward, let's also spring into a season of renewed energy and focus.
Weather Awareness: With the arrival of Spring, unpredictable weather may be in store. Please ensure your child comes to school prepared with appropriate attire for changing weather conditions.
I want to express my gratitude for the ongoing support from our incredible Rossi community. Your involvement, whether big or small, makes a positive impact on our students and enhances the overall school experience. Thank you for your continued partnership in creating a nurturing and enriching environment for our students. Wishing you a joyful and successful month ahead!
Warm regards,
Carmella Heer, Principal
W.I.S.E. News
Our beloved Ms. Gina Panzino was our superhero this month and introduced the trait of Perseverance. She talked about how not only is it hard to persevere but she gave input on how to do it successfully. She gave the children hope and even played a little game with them giving them a fun reward. Go Rossi Ows!

READ-A-PALOOZA SPONSORED BY SAFETY PATROL
On Thursday March 6, students and staff at Rossi “stepped right up” to celebrate reading at our first annual safety patrol sponsored Read-A-Palooza in conjunction with Read Across America Week.
The event was a carnival inspired night of literacy-rich fun for the whole family and included dozens of games, guest readers, vendors, and reading strategy workshops for parents. Students earned tickets to redeem prizes —hundreds of free books donated by BookSmiles. Students went home with armloads of books thanks to the South Jersey-based nonprofit organization.
Community partners such as Chick-Fil-A, Texas Roadhouse, the Vineland Public Library, Cole the Deaf Dog, and the Vineland Police Department engaged with families and encouraged their love of reading.
Special thanks to our friends from the Vineland High School tennis team, National Honor Society, Police Cadets, and athletics department for their help supervising our students and keeping them safe!
Thank you also to guest readers from the Vineland Police Department, former Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mary Gruccio, former Vineland Board of Education member and author & illustrator Makema Douglas.
It was an incredible night filled with smiles, popcorn, and lots of reading! Big thank you to our staff and families for coming out and showing that Rossi cares about reading!
Thank You,
Mr. Martine - Advisor
