A Note from the Menchaca Team
Dear Menchaca Families,
Can you believe we only have 41 days left in the school year? Time has flown by, and while we’ve made so much progress, there is still so much to learn! These final weeks are crucial for your child’s growth, and consistent attendance is more important than ever. Every day in the classroom helps build the foundation for success!
We encourage you to connect with your child’s teacher about the key skills your little learner should master before summer. This is a great time to ask questions, review progress, and find ways to support learning at home.
Let’s finish strong together—thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to your child’s education!
Best,
MECC Leadership Team

Dismissal Reminders
To ensure student safety and proper supervision, all students must be picked up no later than 3:00 PM.
Dismissal begins each day at 2:30 P.M. and as a courtesy to parents runs until 3:00 P.M. We understand that unforeseen circumstances can occur, but if you are running late, please contact the front office as soon as possible at 210-882-1610
Sending someone new to pick up your child? Make sure they have the proper pick-up tag!
For the safety of all students, all vehicles must display the correct pick-up tag. If a tag is not present, the driver will be directed to the front office for an ID check before the student is released. Remember additional tags can be purchased in the front office for $5.00 Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe!
A Note From Our Nurse
As a reminder, students must be fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication before returning to school. This policy is not meant to be an inconvenience but is essential in keeping our school community healthy and preventing the spread of illness.
We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a safe environment for all students and staff. If your child is feeling unwell, please allow them the necessary time to recover before returning to class.
Thank you for your support in prioritizing the health and well-being of our school community.
Did You Know?
Attendance Affects School Funding
Every school day counts—not just for your child’s learning, but also for our school’s funding. In Texas, public schools receive funding based on Average Daily Attendance (ADA), which means that each day a student is absent, the school loses funding.
💰 Why does this matter?
The funding our school receives helps provide important resources like teachers, classroom materials, and student programs. When students miss school, it directly impacts the financial support available to enhance their learning experience.
🏫 What can you do?
- Make school attendance a priority.
- Schedule appointments outside of school hours when possible.
- Encourage your child to attend, even on non-instructional days.
We understand that sometimes absences are unavoidable due to illness or emergencies. If your child must be absent, be sure to send a note to the school to ensure proper documentation. Thank you for your partnership in making every school day count!
