Kindness
In the aftermath of the recent flood and Tropical Storm Helene, our community has shown incredible strength and resilience. While we work to recover and support one another, it is more important than ever to emphasize the power of kindness. Acts of kindness—no matter how small—can make a big difference in helping us heal and rebuild. Whether it’s sharing a smile, offering a helping hand, or simply being there to listen, these gestures help create a sense of unity and comfort.
As parents, let’s encourage our children to spread kindness during this time. Talk to them about what it means to show compassion and find ways to practice kindness together, such as writing thank-you notes to first responders or helping a neighbor clean up. Our shared commitment to being kind will make our community even stronger as we navigate these challenging times together.
Mark your calendars for our first Panther Party of the year, October 25th from 3:00 - 5:00pm. The theme is NEON! We are asking students to wear neon if they plan on attending the Panther Party.
*Panther Parties are held after school, and to be eligible to attend, students must maintain good standing in both their classes and attendance. Students with excessive unexcused absences or tardies will not be eligible to participate. At Riverbend, we are committed to promoting hard work and the importance of regular school attendance.
Tardies
As part of our school improvement plan this year, we are focusing on reducing the number of unexcused tardies. Arriving at school on time is essential for students’ success. When students are on time, they start their day calmly, are better prepared to engage in learning, and don’t miss valuable instruction time.
