ALDER AVENUE MIDDLE SCHOOL
WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
Week of June 8, 2025
Hello Alder Families,
As we approach the final days of the school year, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued partnership and support. This has been a year filled with growth, learning, and memorable experiences for our students, and we’re excited to finish strong. This was yet another amazing week at Alder.
This week our 8th-grade students experienced a unique blend of history, culture, and automotive education during the Alder’s annual Classic Car Show organized in partnership with the Jersey Cape Region Antique Automobile Club of America and Mrs. Woods. The event not only showcased vintage automobiles but also provided students with valuable insights into the evolution of car design and safety features over time. It highlighted just how far automotive technology has come.
This week, we also celebrated our annual People’s Choice Awards Ceremony, a heartfelt event sponsored by our Renaissance Club. Unlike traditional awards based solely on grades or performance, the People’s Choice Awards honor students who have made a meaningful, positive difference to a staff member in some way. Whether through hard work, leadership, enthusiasm, kindness, or simply brightening someone’s day, these students truly embody the spirit of Alder Avenue Middle School. Congratulations to all of this year’s recipients! #ehtpride 🦅
In addition, we proudly welcomed a new group of students into the National Junior Honor Society. Their dedication to leadership, service, scholarship, and character inspires us all, and we commend them for their outstanding commitment to excellence.
Looking ahead, we are excited about several upcoming events to help close out the year on a positive and celebratory note. Our 8th Grade Formal Dance is quickly approaching, offering our students a memorable evening to enjoy with friends. We will also be hosting our 8th Grade Moving Up Celebration, a special ceremony to honor the achievements of our graduating students as they prepare to take on the challenges of high school. To wrap things up, we’ll gather as a school community for our end-of-year pep rallies and celebrations, recognizing student accomplishments and celebrating school spirit.
Thank you for your ongoing support, it truly makes a difference in the lives of our students. Let’s finish the year strong together!
Sincerely,
Ms. Cunningham
