Superintendent's Message
Loveland Tiger Families,
Loveland City School District has earned 5 Stars on the 2023-24 Ohio School Report Card! We are one of only 68 districts in the state of Ohio to earn an Overall Rating of 5 Stars. In southwest Ohio, only ten districts managed to earn the Overall 5-star rating.
If you’re not familiar with the Ohio School Report Card, the state scores all public school districts in five areas: Achievement, Progress, Gap Closing, Graduation, and Early Literacy. Districts can earn up to five stars in each category, which contributes to an Overall Rating. Loveland City School District earned five stars in every category! Only 18 districts in the state earned 5 Stars in every category - placing Loveland in the top 3% of Ohio public school districts.
For three years in a row, Loveland has been among the best of the best in Ohio. The district earned across-the-board 5-Star ratings on the 2021-22 Report Card and an Overall 5-Star Rating on the 2022-23 Report Card. You can learn more about the report card and dig into the data by following this link to our website.
These accomplishments wouldn’t be possible without the hard work of our students and staff and the support of our awesome families and community members. Thank you for all you do!

Celebrating the Homecoming Parade!
We had a blast last week at the Homecoming Parade. It was great to see so many of our students, families, and staff along the parade route. The parade and the energy around it help make Loveland a very special place. Our daughter Chelsea brought our granddaughter Lyla along for the parade, which made it even more special for Sue and I. You can see by Lyla’s expression she was pretty ‘fired up!’ Now that Chelsea has her own child, her perspective of how important a supportive community is has changed. She was absolutely amazed at how many people were on the parade route and just how positive an event it was for our Loveland students.
Hearing the students along the route yelling the names of their teachers and principals was really special. It says a lot about the relationships they build with kids in our district. The students who march in the parade really appreciate seeing the community turn out in orange and black to cheer them on. Thank you to everyone who came out, and thank you to the Loveland Athletic Boosters for making this event happen every year.
If you didn’t see one of our buses decorated like a Tiger, it was really cool! Special thanks to bus driver Kathy Siekbert and her daughter for their hard work!

AI Thought Leaders and Leadership Cohort
AI Thought Leaders
Leadership Cohort
We're investing in our staff with some great learning opportunities last week. Our AI Thought Leaders group spent time learning about how artificial intelligence will impact education, and our first Leadership Cohort also met to help grow leaders across the district. These meetings will go on throughout the year.
Community Advisory Team Talks Student Success
Our first Community Advisory Team Meeting was held last week. Parents, staff, and community members signed up for a series of meetings throughout the year to give us feedback about how to make Loveland City Schools even better. The CAT learned about our Ohio School Report Card, student mental health efforts, and how we serve our English language learners. Thank you to the people who have dedicated their time to this important effort.
We Work the Waterways Field Trip
Loveland High School Environmental Science students spent a day on the Ohio River last week. Students learned about careers in the maritime, shipping, and logistics industries. The nonprofit group We Work The Waterways also discussed the importance of conservation and protecting our river ecosystems.
