Message from Ms. Bratton, principal

Hello Wrangler families,

Our teachers are back and working hard to prepare for a great school year.

Here are some BIG events this coming week...

SCHEDULE PICK UP -- Wed. August 14 8:30-11:30 and 1:00-5:00

This year, parents can come at any time for schedule pick up. Families can check registration status, ensure record requirements are met with the nurse, and pick up IDs, car pick up number, and class schedules. Each student will need a planner for school. We will have these available for purchase.

In order to simplify class supply fees, families can pay for class activity fees at schedule pick up. This will take the burden off of our teachers during those hectic first days of school, and it "get it done" quickly, without the "risk" of getting lost in a backpack. A list of fees for fine arts and elective classes can be found below.

SADDLE UP orientation -- Wed. August 14 in the SBMS gym, 12:00 -1:00 PM

We will share information regarding:

safety: social and emotional
Safety: physical/security
compliance expectations: IDs, cell phones, etc.
drop off and pick up routines; busses
Tutoring
after school & extra-curricular activities

This information is quite different than what was shared during Rising Wranglers months ago. Rather than course offerings and program overviews, this is more operational "nuts and bolts" and helping allay parent and student "fears" of the unknowns. Everything from drop off to discipline to attendance notes to pick up line. Session will also be offered in Spanish. We encourage all NEW families and students to attend.

Schedule pick up - Wed Aug 14

This Wednesday, August 14th, SBMS will be on site from 8:30-11:30am and from 1:00-5:00pm with stations throughout our cafeteria for registration assistance, drop off campus supplies, campus tours courtesy of NJHS, PTA membership and merchandise, spirit wear courtesy of SBMS cheerleading, student ID's, a photo booth, schedule pickup, and so much more.

You will also be able to pay for any fine arts and electives fees, purchase a student planner, etc. Cash, check and credit card accepted. A breakdown of fees are as follows:

ALL Students: Planner/Agenda: $8.

Art: $20

Athletics & Pre-Athletics uniforms: $20 (required to purchase SBMS uniforms)

PE: gray top and navy bottoms are required, but NOT required to purchase SMBS uniforms

Band:

6th grade general instruments-$60

6th grade percussion-$40

7th & 8th grade: $40

Instrument Maintenance Fee-$80 (only for students using school-owned instruments)

Choir: $40

Construction:

7th grade: $20 (can pay now or 2nd semester when class is taken)

8th grade: $40

Skills for Living (7th grade): $40 (can pay now or 2nd semester when class is taken)

Human Services (8th grade): $40

Theater: $20

Orchestra: $50

Instrument Maintenance Fee-$80 (only for students using school-owned instruments)

Your PE/Athletic clothes links have opened back up. Please note the color requirements below. Do not wait as these links will only be active through August 19th.:

All PE and 6th grade pre-athletics: gray top, navy bottoms

Boys 7th and 8th Athletics: gray top, navy bottoms

Girls 7th and 8th Athletics: navy top, navy bottoms

Volleyball Tryouts - Aug 21-23

Girls 7th & 8th Grade Volleyball Tryouts will run Wednesday, August 21st-23rd. You MUST attend all days. Please be on the lookout for the QR registration code at schedule pick up and in a separate detailed email. Please have ALL UIL required forms in Rank One completed. No exceptions.
