CTS Snapshot

Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

Students receive lesson stars where a teacher feels a student has made an excellent contribution in their lesson. Some students receive multiple lesson stars across the week, below are the students who have received the most stars for each year group this week:

Year 7:

Oliwia B 7TE, Alekks 7CO, Kale 7CA, Katie 7TE and Marija 7CA.

Year 8:

Adyan 8TA, Lily C 8CA, Ameer 8TA, Sophie 8CO, Beth 8CA, Olivia 8SW, Nyah 8ST and Kate 8ST.

Year 9:

Ruby 9SW, Oliwia D 9ST, Melande 9TE, Alisha 9CO, Eleanor 9SW, Mia 9ST and Theo 9CO.

Year 10:

Amber 10CU, Corne 10CU and Darcy 10TE.

Year 11:

Kasper 11CA and Chantelle 11TA.

Year 12:

Mihai 12A.

Year 13:

Kai 12B and Sean 12A.

Our year 8 Students visited Adrenaline Alley and AIM (Active in Motion) with the PE Team this week. The aim of this visit was to inspire students to think outside the box when it comes to health and fitness and have a taster of what local opportunities there are.

The students had lots of fun was had whilst the team at AIM gave them an insight into how resistance training can help with rehabilitation fitting in with our GCSE Level Sport Science Programme.

Great big thank to Mandy and the team for hosting us.

Last month the University of Northampton visited the school to talk about The National Saturday Club - two of our students were selected for the Art and Design Club and we have received the following feedback:

'Jessica and Emily are representing the school wonderfully'.

We can't wait to see what work the girls have produced that will be exhibited at a gallery in London.

Our co-curricular programme has returned this week, please see below the clubs available to students, if you wish to register your child, please do this via Edulink.

Our Gold team are currently on Day 1 (of 4) of their qualifying expedition to Snowdonia. The group started at 8.30am and it was a rather wet start for them.

Our students have made a fantastic start to their learning, and lots of lesson stars and achievement points have been given out by staff. In particular we would like to celebrate these students this week who have been recognised most highly for their efforts:

Corby Fire station visited Corby Technical School this week to lead assemblies on Arson and Fire safety. Our students have gained some valuable knowledge and awareness of the topic.
