Center Community Chat
May 5, 2024
Dear Families,
Please join us in showing appreciation to our teachers and Nurse Felzani during the upcoming Teacher and Nurse appreciation week. All staff members who step onto the Center school serve as teachers of our students. They play a crucial role in shaping the minds and hearts of them. As we're in the process of interviewing for open teaching positions, candidates often ask what we are most proud of at Center. Consistently, the answer is our students, families, and colleagues! Our educators deeply care about each student's success and are dedicated to going above and beyond to ensure it. Their willingness to support and collaborate with their colleagues also makes our school community special.
We are incredibly fortunate to have such a remarkable group of educators guiding and inspiring our students every day and for a caring and competent nurse who cares for their well-being.
Join us for a fun community night at Roller Kingdom on Tuesday, May 7th from 6-8pm. The PTO will cover the admission fee and skate rental costs this year (or feel free to bring your own!). Snacks will be available for purchase.
Roller Kingdom is located at 355 Middlesex Rd, Tyngsborough, MA. Please note, Roller Kingdom requires that you fill out this online waiver to join in the fun.

Last Call for Sharing Input: Placement Process for students entering 1-4
Our placement process for the upcoming 2024--2025 school year is beginning and will take place over several weeks. This process is truly a team effort that involves input from school personnel and student data gathered over time. We put great care into the decisions that are made. All information is reviewed by the present grade level teachers, reading teachers, special education teachers, counselors, principals and other appropriate personnel so that we can be confident that classroom make ups are conducive to learning.
When creating classrooms, it is important that we are mindful of the needs of our students across grade levels. Individual classes need to strike the delicate balance between overall range of abilities, learning styles, special needs, conduct and appropriate combinations of students. Final lists are reviewed very carefully to ensure we have used our collective professional judgment to place each child appropriately in a well-balanced class. Our goal at Center is to provide a learning environment that meets the needs of the whole child and placement is a key factor in realizing this goal. Your input in the process is gladly accepted. If you feel that there is additional information of which we should be aware in placing your child for next year, please complete the following form by Monday, May 6, 2024. Please submit this to the principal even if you have discussed your preferences or concerns with the teacher or shared the same preference in a previous year. Please keep in mind that we are unable to honor requests for individual teachers, or input received after May 6, 2024. Submissions containing such requests will not be considered.
Thank you for your involvement and continued partnership in your child's education at Center.

Twin Day...or Triplet or....
Student Council's idea for a Twin's Spirit Day was a big hit. A special thanks to Christopher McGillicuddy and Alana Joyce for volunteering their time to serve as student council advisors. We are grateful for the efforts of all our student council members to make Center a fun and caring place to learn.
Like the Ozzie shirts? Here is how to order one until midnight tonight
Dear Chelmsford Families,
Recently, the middle schools had a Pridewear sale and Ozzie Superfan sweatshirts turned out to be a big hit! All proceeds from Ozzie Superfan sweatshirts were donated to Officer Ozzie's care. Our friends at Center Sports have created some new items and opened up a one week store dedicated to Chelmsford's favorite community resource dog...Officer Ozzie! The online store offers sweatshirts and t-shirts in youth & adult sizes. The store will close on May 5th @ midnight. As a thank you for all that Officer Ozzie and Officer Sullivan do for our school and community, ALL proceeds will be donated to Officer Ozzie. How fun would it be to see Ozzie shirts all around our schools and town?!
