Dorr Families,
The halls are a buzz as Spring slowly approaches! Students are preparing for NWEA testing and MSTEP testing, some classes have field trips coming up, and Spring Break is on the horizon!
We welcomed a new class of Wildcats who will be starting Preschool, Young 5's, or Kindergarten in the fall to tour our building and meet our staff. We are excited to welcome these new families into our Dorr Elementary family. Registration is open for the 2025-2026 school year. We encourage you to register now!
Thank you to all the parents who joined us for Parent Teacher Conferences! Working collaboratively with your students teacher is so important for student growth and development. We appreciate your continued support!
As we welcome parents in for various volunteer opportunities as well as class field trips, I'd like to take this time to remind you to make sure that you have a CURRENT background check on file. Safety is our number one priority. Any one who visits the school must have a background check on file. Background checks are only valid 1 year from the date of submittal. If you are unsure if your background check is still valid, reach out to your classroom teacher or contact the office. If you need to fill out a background check, please click the button below.
We are almost to that home stretch point in the year, but we still have a lot of learning and a lot of fun to have. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and check the bi weekly newsletter upcoming events calendar so you don't miss a moment of the fun!
Educationally Yours,
Mrs. Seniura
February Student Of The Month - Kindness
Distinguished Artist - Trinity Northup
Dorr Elementary has a Distinguished Artist Program in which student
artwork is on display like an art gallery for the school year. Each year 9
students are chosen as a Distinguished Artist. The distinguished artist is a
student who is responsible in art, shows their creativity and works hard
on all projects. Ms. Corcoran chooses 3 to 4 pieces of artwork in which
the students followed directions and completed the project adding their
creativity. A committee of staff members then votes on the projects to choose the winner.
Congratulations Trinity Northup!
Welcoming New Wildcats
We were so excited to welcome our newest little Wildcats and their families to our annual Preschool, Young 5's, and Kindergarten Round Up open house this week. This event gives new families a chance to tour our building, learn about the programs we offer, and meet our staff! Do you have a student who will be in Preschool, Young 5's or Kindergarten next year? Registration is open now!
Born's Buzz
Zipper Club
With the snow and cold weather comes lots of layers. Suiting up before heading out into a winter wonderland takes some time for anyone! Imagine how long it takes our Young 5's students! To help make the process run quickly and smoothly so our littles are able to enjoy their recess, Dorr Elementary recruited some 3rd grade leaders to help.
These 'Zipper Club' helpers take a few minutes out of their day to support our Young 5's friends and add an extra set of hands. I have heard nothing but raving reviews! "They're so helpful." "They're respectful and responsible." "Suiting up for the snow doesn't take as long as it used to!" So let's take a moment to recognize these amazing students!
👏Thank you Kase , Royce , and Lincoln for being "Paw"some leaders! 👏
Peer Of The Month
Dorr Elementary participates in a program called Peer to Peer. Students, with different backgrounds and circumstances, come together to engage in shared activities where ALL students learn together. Our 2nd and 3rd graders who follow our 3 B's (Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Safe) are chosen by our Dorr team to participate in this program. I oversee the program with the help of our Level 2 Special Education teacher, Mrs. Onken!
Each month, Mrs. Onken and I will be showcasing two PEERs that have been excelling in their work as a PEER at Dorr Elementary. For the month of March, our two PEERs are.....
🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁
Sophia Lethcoe and Finley Gillette!!!
Sophia is a kind friend to all. Her PEER time is during her recess. During this time, she plays respectfully with others and sees if there is anyone who wants to play that is alone. She values being a PEER!
Finley assists with dismissal at the end of the day in Mrs. Onken's classroom. She does any task that she sees needs to be done. She cares about each student and shows it through her actions with them.
Congratulations Sophia and Finley! Thanks for being such great role models!

PE Fun!
Artist Corner
Kindergarteners have been working on some very familiar artwork. They have been making self portraits! The resemblance to their self portraits have been spot on! What a fun art project!
Lost and Found
It's the time of year that our lost and found areas start to grow! If anything in these pictures look familiar, feel free to come on down and take a look!
In a school of over 300 kiddos, there are bound to be look alike items. You may consider labeling your students items with a sharpie. This will help our staff reunite lost items with their owners!
