NMS Update 5.26.2024
Northfield Middle School 2023-2024
Message from the Principal

Middle School Families:
Due to the holiday weekend, we are sending our parent skylert from 5.19.24 as a review of the events taking place at NMS these last several days of school. Our final parent skylert will be sent out on Sunday, June 2, 2024.
We are full steam ahead to many spring events! This time of year can become stressful for students, families, and staff as we work hard to complete school work, participate in activities, and still find time to get outside to enjoy the summer-like weather. Now more than ever, it is important for good communication with your students, encouraging them to finish work on time, and showing PRIDE as members of NMS. PRIDE may be shown by the clothing choices students make, the kindness they show to others, or the choices students make (Cell phones in backpacks, keeping the lunchroom clean, keeping hands and feet to themselves, to name a few of the behaviors we have seen more often recently). Talk with your student about how they can do their best to finish out this school year strong. Know that our school counselors, teachers, staff and administration are here to support our students and families all the way to the end.
This week’s NMS Update 5.19.2024 features information on yearbook distribution, school transportation forms, and upcoming field trips. In addition, here are a few items to check in with your student about:
Lockers: Please encourage your student to begin cleaning out their locker. Bring home extra clothing, lunch bags, food or any other items not needed for class these last few weeks of school. Since most students are not using lockers, you may want to go through a backpack as well. You may be surprised by what you find.
Lost and Found: We have multiple lost and found items outside our media center, inside the locker rooms, and common areas at NMS. Please ask your student to check these areas in the coming week. All items remaining on June 7th will be donated to charity.
Thank you for your support as we finish this school year strong!
