Hello Parents & Guardians,

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Jefferson’s Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held the evening of October 16 (4:00-7:30) and all day on October 17 (8:00-5:30). Teachers will be sending out more information regarding sign-ups the week of September 30. Sign-ups will be done using Sign-Up Genius. You will be sent a link by your child’s teacher to select a time. Conferences will be held in-person, with accommodations being made for virtual or phone conferences, per parent request.

Hispanic Heritage Month

September 15th to October 15th is Hispanic Heritage Month! During this time, we celebrate the rich culture, history, and contributions of Hispanic and Latinx communities. At our school, we’ll be incorporating activities and lessons to highlight the importance of diversity and the influence Hispanic Americans have had on our country. We encourage you to join us in recognizing and honoring this vibrant heritage!

Homecoming Parades

The St. Charles West Homecoming Parade is on Friday, October 4 at 1:20 PM. St. Charles West students start their parade at Jefferson. Jefferson students will go outside during this time to participate in the parade. This year’s theme is Habitats/Biomes and will feature a variety of our planet’s ecosystems.

The St. Charles High Homecoming Parade is on Saturday, October 12 at 10 AM. There are prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers. This year’s theme is Roaring 20’s.

PTO

Our first PTO meeting of the school year was a success. Thank you to all the parents who joined us. We have already begun planning some AMAZING school/family events for this school year, including our first ever Color Run.

Free and Reduced Meal Benefits to Expire on October 1, 2024

The District participates in the National School Lunch Program allowing families the opportunity to apply for free and reduced price meal benefits. Free and reduced meal benefits do not automatically roll over from year to year, a new application must be submitted each year. Applications may be submitted any time during the school year. Students' free and reduced benefits that were approved in the 23-24 School Year will expire on October 1st, 2024, if a new application has not been filled out for the 24-25 School Year. If you have already received an approval letter for the 24-25 School year, you can disregard. If a new application is not submitted before October 1st, 2024, benefits will expire and students will be charged full price for meals.

The last day to order yearbooks is March 21st.

Remember to call the attendance secretary (636-443-4402) or email Mary Ellen Godfrey (mgodfrey@stcharlessd.org) each day your child will be out of school so that their absence can be marked as excused. Please make contact by 9am. Please provide doctors notes upon return if available.

Important Bus Information

Please remember that students are not to get off at other students' bus stops. They are also not allowed to ride other students' buses. This is a District Policy.
