Principal's Postcard!
Pirate Families,
It's been another great week of school! We are seeing lots of smiles and learning going on! We also have just named our volleyball, football, and cheer teams for this year, and are excited to see them demonstrate their Pirate Pride and leadership as student athletes! To add to the excitement, our students have earned a whopping 22,928 PBIS points already this school year through demonstrating our Pirate PRIDE expectations! They are Prepared, Responsible, In Control, Dependable, and Engaged, and we are PROUD of our Pirate community!!
Thank you for your support as we work together to ensure that our children have every opportunity to become college, career, and life ready!
Sincerely,
Ms. Gilbert

Staff in the Spotlight
Mr. Eric Wilson
Hello, my name is Eric Wilson Jr, and I am thrilled to serve as a Student Services Instructional Assistant at Pasco Middle School. I am from Lacoochee, FL, and also a proud graduate of the great Bethune-Cookman University with a degree in Political Science. Pasco Middle School holds a special place in my heart because I also attended this school. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work alongside some of the same teachers who helped me along my journey as a young pirate. I am passionate about taking quality time to work with students, ensuring that their needs are met and their voices are heard. My goal is to create a positive, nurturing, and trustworthy environment where every student feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Fun fact about me: I played football from the time i was 5 years old until college and I hold the shared record at pasco high school for most touchdowns scored in one game (5) alongside former NFL player Troy Hambrick
I am honored to be featured in this week's Staff Spotlight and look forward to continuing to make a difference at our school.
Staff in the Spotlight
Mrs. Katie Nelson
I am a former third grade teacher, turned stay at home mom returning to the classroom. I am really excited that the second part of my career is teaching ELA. Reading is my favorite past time and helping young minds connect to different forms of literature is super thrilling. Having students feel seen, connected and safe is an important part of my classroom. I am intentional at making connections with my students the best I can. I also do my best to make our space one they can take risks, celebrate their wins, and even make mistakes.
My husband, Mike, and I met at and graduated from Zephyrhills High School. I then went on to St. Leo University to earn my education degree. We have three amazing kids, Liliana, Wyatt, and Mia. As a family we love love love baseball, playing games, and spending time with our very tight knit extended family. During the summers, we show our kids the country by major league baseball parks. This summer we went to California and saw the Angels, A's, and Giants and Tigers stadiums.
Fun Fact: Fun Fact: I was born in Wyoming and could ride a horse by myself at 5 years old.

Medication for Self-Carry or Clinic
Students may only carry and self-administer medications with required documented authorization (medical provider & parent). The medication must be brought to school with the documentation by the parent. The child will be given a copy of the authorization to carry with the medication. The prescription labeled box or note from the medical provider is also required. Students may not carry medication that is not authorized or labeled.
Medication may also be accessible for your student in the school clinic, if needed. Parent should bring the medication, prescription label or note from the medical provider and then sign the parent medication authorization form. The student would then access the clinic for the medication.
