Tiger Choir Chronicles

It has been another great week in the Tiger Choir Room! As always, each week I'll be sending out our weekly newsletter, the Tiger Choir Chronicles, sometime between Sunday and Monday. It will also be posted on the choir website under "Weekly Updates." Please be sure to read the full news update each week for reminders, upcoming events, and news. There is a lot of information in this week's newsletter so please be sure to read through everything that applies to your student.

Every class is working diligently in preparation for our Parent Preview Concert on August 27th! We have also begun working on our Fall Concert Music!

On Tuesday, August 27th we will have our annual Parent Preview Concert at 7:00 pm! Student call time is 6:15 pm. Uniform for the performance is as follows:

Because our order or choir polos has not arrived yet, if the student already owns or has received a Travis Choir polo, they should wear the polo and solid blue jeans (no rips or tears) with closed-toe shoes. If students have NOT received a Travis Choir polo yet, they should wear either a solid red shirt, or a Travis High School red shirt with solid blue jeans (no rips or tears) and closed-toe shoes.

Our Booster Club will also be available to join and answer any questions you may have!

In addition to a performance, we will have a brief parent meeting. The concert and performance should finish by 7:30 pm.

Either on your way to our Parent Preview Concert or on your way home after, please stop by Raising Cane's and support our THS Choir program! Mention you are with the choir and we will receive 15% of sales to benefit our choir program! We will have monthly spirit nights at local establishments so be on the lookout for many more!

Thank you to everyone who has paid choir fees! If you have not yet, please remember that they are due by September 20th. RevTrak payments allow for partial payments to fit your family's needs. If your child needs assistance, our Booster Club is here to help! Please simply send me an email and let me know that your child needs assistance paying choir fees and our Boosters will be happy to help out if they are able!

This year we are thrilled to add another private voice teacher to our staff and extend a warm welcome to Mr. Antoine Griggs. Mr. Griggs is an accomplished performer who regularly sings with various organizations in Houston, including the Houston Ebony Opera Guild and Houston Grand Opera! He came to campus a couple weeks ago to meet the students and began lessons last week. He still has a few spots open. If your child is interested, or if you have any specific questions please feel free to reach out to him at antoinegriggs@gmail.com. We are very fortunate in Fort Bend that lessons are taught during student's choir class time so no additional rehearsal time is necessary and I hope that many students will take advantage of this awesome opportunity!

Chorale is off to a great start! A few notes for the week:

• Sectionals are OPTIONAL for all students. Please remember, however, that everyone is REQUIRED to learn the District music and audition on September 14th. Mock auditions are next week so students should be practicing on their own for a successful mock audition.
