Happy Friday-
We have several events coming up as we wrap up the school year. I am still in shock at how fast this last month has zoomed by. Even though we only have 13 days remaining there is still much to finish. Next Wednesday our 8th graders will be walking to the high school to tour the building, meet staff and administrators and help to alleviate some of the stress that comes with this transition. On Friday of next week, our awesome PTO is sponsoring a "Lock-In" for our 8th graders. Students will be treated to games, food, open gym and also an opportunity to play video games.
Our 8th grade promotion has been moved to PRIDE stadium instead of the amphitheater. We made this decision to better accommodate students and families. We will still have the start time at 6:00. If it rains, we will move the ceremony to the middle school gym. Cross your fingers that it does not rain.
We have several students that are arriving to school after 7:30. It is important that all students are in their classroom when the bell rings and we appreciate your support.
Happy Memorial Day and thank you to those that served which allowed us the freedoms that we have today.

MATH IN THE PARK OPT OUT FORM
On either June 4th or 5th, depending on weather, the Math department will be taking all students down to the park to complete a Geometry Scavenger hunt with other Math class students. The students will be looking for Geometry vocabulary in “real life” form. The students will complete sketches of objects that demonstrate the vocabulary on a list that is given by their teacher. By partnering with other students, students will have the opportunity to expand their current Geometry vocabulary, and see everyday items in a new light.
Please only return this form if you DO NOT wish for your student to participate.

SUMMER SCHOOL
We are now collecting names of students that would benefit attending Summer School. Mrs. Baker, our At-Risk Liaison has been calling families to offer them the opportunity to participate in a great learning event. Please see the attached flyer below for additional information.
Mental Health Awareness Month
As we embrace the blooming flowers and warmer weather, it's the perfect time to focus on rejuvenating our minds, bodies, and spirits. May is Mental Health Awareness Month and Better Sleep Month. Here are some tips and insights to help you prioritize your well-being this month.
Embrace Outdoor Activities: Take advantage of the longer daylight hours and pleasant weather by spending more time outdoors. Whether it's going for a hike, a bike ride, or simply taking a leisurely stroll in the park, connecting with nature can help reduce stress, boost mood, and improve overall well-being.
Prioritize Sleep: With busy schedules and endless to-do lists, it's easy to neglect sleep. However, getting enough rest is crucial for both physical and mental health. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night by establishing a consistent bedtime routine and creating a restful sleep environment.
Connect with Others: Social connections are essential for well-being, so make an effort to nurture your relationships with friends, family, and loved ones. Whether it's scheduling regular phone calls, virtual meetups, or in-person gatherings, prioritize meaningful connections that bring joy and support into your life.
8th Grade Celebration-
Next Friday, our 8th graders have the opportunity to have some fun after school from 2:20-4:30. This is a free event sponsored by the PTO. We have extended the RSVP date to May 28th. Please use the QR code on the flyer to respond.
All students must be picked up at 4:30 as there is not bussing.

Sports Schedule
I wanted to touch base with you in regards to sporting event attendance. Students in the middle school must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to all games and have their ID or can show their information in StudentVue to get into the games for free. Students can not be dropped off and left without parent/guardian supervision. This is for all Clio sporting events. Also, when students attend the games they will need to be seated on the bleachers. This is for safety reasons and we are also at the game to cheer on our Mustangs.
