This month we are celebrating the joy of READING! The first week of March we will be participating in "Read Across America Week." We are encouraging students to drop everything and read daily! Research states, that a person who reads everyday gets better at it over time. Not surprisingly, daily readers also gain more enjoyment from it than those who read less often. Reading improves memory and critical thinking skills. It also helps with focus, memory, empathy and communication skills. We are proud to be building life-long readers here at The Park!

📘This month is also Women's History Month and we will be celebrating "Women Who Lead Around The World" with an online read aloud hub, classroom morning meeting slides and an exciting book to explore in the classroom! It is sure to be a powerful month celebrating women around the world.

🎵March Music Madness is back! Students will be listening to short clips of songs and have an opportunity to vote on their favorites each week. This year's theme is the original song versus a cover of the song. Who will win!? By the end of the month we will have the #1 song! Stay tuned!

💻Grades 1st-3rd will be keeping Chromebooks at school for the remainder of the year. Please be sure to send back to school all Chromebooks, chargers and bags.

🌸Spring is in the air! This means we are going outside daily and enjoying the beautiful weather and our wonderful outdoor spaces. Please be sure your child is dressed appropriately and jackets are labeled so they don't end up in the mountain of lost and found!

Beginning February 3rd students who will be 4 years of age on or before June 30, 2025 will be able to register for Pre-K/Head Start. Click here for more information about what is needed to register AND to register for PK. [In person appointments will be scheduled for 2/20/25 and 3/28/25 at the Mon County Center from 8:30-3:00pm.] Preferential placement will be given to families with complete applications submitted prior to 4/15/25.

Children must be 5 on or before June 30, 2025 to register. ALL incoming Kindergarteners must fill out a registration form even if they were enrolled in MCS Pre-K.
