VME Messenger
August 18, 2024
Good Afternoon VME Patriot Families,
It was been a wonderful first week of school!
Morning Car Line has a little different of a traffic pattern this year. This is to ensure faculty and families have access to the parking lot for meeting and/or business in the office during morning drop off. Please feel free to use both lines as you enter campus from Veterans Memorial Blvd. but plan to merge to the far right lane for car line drop off.
Here are a few reminder from week 1:
- Car Line Drop Off/AM - please only park and walk your child up if you have a meeting or business in the office. We offer car line drop off to streamline the arrival of students and maintain everyone safety.
- If you arrive late (after 8:25 AM) please park and walk your child to the front office door. Tardy passes will be given beginning Monday.
- Car Line Dismissal/PM - We are off to a great start. We have been moving carline safely and quickly each day. Dismissal is at 2:50 PM (except early release days when it is at 11:50 AM), we have been wrapping up car line at about 3:15-3:20 PM.
- Please be sure to be on time to pick up your child. If you arrive after car line has ended, you will need to park and come to the front office to get your child, with a photo ID.
- Please ensure you have a car line car tag for the 24-25 school year - if not you will need to park and come to the front office, with your photo ID to get your child.
- Student Laptops - All students will be issued a CCPS laptop in the first weeks of school. Please take time to preview this video with your child Student Laptop Expectations Video. This was shared on the news with students this week.
- Free/Reduced Lunch Applications - Please take the time to complete this application even if you do not think your family will qualify. The number of applications completed helps VME, regardless of the number of families who qualify. My School Apps - https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application
- CCPS Code of Conduct & VME Handbook - dress code and how we are responsible for our actions (words, physical actions) was reviewed this week on the news.
- Please ensure your child has closed toe shoes on each day when coming to school. Beginning on Monday, if your child does not have appropriate shoes on he/she will sit out at recess and/or PE.
- VME Student Parent Handbook - https://www.collierschools.com/Page/9697
- CCPS Code of Conduct - https://www.collierschools.com/Page/4900 "The Code is applicable and enforced to all Collier County Public School students."
- Both of these documents contain expectations for all school age children and the Code of Conduct specifically shares the discipline for Elementary Students if these rule/expectations are not followed.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Ms. Vieira & Mrs. Roberts
