NEW - A Message From the District
The Douglas County School District is beginning a new strategic planning process. Help us make sure that the voice of our school’s families is included in conversations about what we want our school district to look like in the next 5 years, 10 years and beyond. Your voice is critical in determining how we can best prepare our students for successful futures so they can lead the way in a world that is quickly evolving in terms of jobs and technology. Please attend an upcoming meeting to learn more and to provide your voice to this important conversation. Click here for a list of meeting dates, times and location and for an RSVP link. Dinner will be provided at the evening sessions.
NEW - A Message From Our Principal
A HUGE thank you to everyone for supporting our fundraising efforts this year! We are so lucky to have a community that supports our goals at Coyote Creek! I can't wait for the kids to get to play on our new playground equipment and go on a field trip this year!
Please remind your student when they are riding their bikes to school they will need to get off their bikes and walk their wheels once they are on campus.
We do offer free breakfast but the free breakfast needs to be eaten in the cafeteria at breakfast time. Students are not allowed to take breakfast out of the cafeteria for snack time. Please talk to your child about leaving food in the cafeteria.
NEW - Library News
Thank you so much for your incredible support during our Scholastic Book Fair fundraiser! Your generosity and excitement for reading made it a huge success. The funds raised will go a long way in enriching our students' learning experience, and for that, we are truly grateful.
NEW - No Dogs On Campus
As much as we love your dogs and think they are absolutely adorable, there are no dogs allowed on campus. This includes dogs of all sizes and ages. They are not allowed on campus when children are present, and this includes when our BASE program is taking place before and after school. Your dogs are allowed in your car when you drive through to pick up your student. They may even get a treat from our Principal.
Thank you for understanding
NEW - 6th Grade Parents
We have rescheduled the 6th Grade Field Day and kickball game against the staff to take place later in the school year (TBD). We will let you know as we get closer to the date.
Thank you!

October Count - September 25th - October 8th
What is October count as defined by the CO Department of Education?
Each year all public school districts and facilities across the state of Colorado participate in the Student October Count data submission to the Colorado Department of Education (CDE). The purpose of this data collection is to obtain required student level data as provided for by state statute, including information regarding students’ funding eligibility as outlined in the Public School Finance Act of 1994, as amended (22-54-101, C.R.S.). The Colorado Department of Education collects these data through the Data Pipeline system with the Information Management Services (IMS) unit of CDE overseeing the collection.
The Student October Count is based on a one (1) day membership count in which districts are asked to report all students who are actively enrolled and attending classes through their district on that date. While the submission should only include those students who meet the membership and scheduling requirements as of the pupil enrollment count day, the actual submission process begins in September and closes mid-November. Districts should refer to the Student October Count data submission documentation distributed by the IMS unit at CDE for further information regarding the actual submission process and data element definitions.
Pretty Much... It is how we get funded. So, we need your students to be in school as much as possible during this time.
Thank you!
4th Grade Recorders
Hello 4th grade families,
CCE Music will start recorders soon. If you have not already done so, please log into your My School Bucks account and go into the CCE Store (then click on 'Browse All'). You will choose the 24-25 4th Grade Recorders. The quicker your students have their equipment, the more time we will have to work on them this year! If you have any questions about recorders, feel free to reach out to me (Mrs. Balchuck) at esbalchuck@dcsdk12.org or if it is a question regarding MySchoolBucks, you can contact Hayley in the front office.
Thanks so much,
Mrs. Balchuck
